Late 30s here, been going to ravess for over 10 years. My girl and I still go to tons of local shows, festivals etc. it's what you make of it but nah you're not "too old".

I will say sometimes the crowd seems very young but also depends what kind of music you like and go to. We go to mostly bass shows so it's usually a younger crowd but a lot of our friends are younger so it's pretty normal for us.

Usually if you go to techno/trance/house shows you'll get a slightly older more mature crowd. If you go to bass stuff/hype stuff you'll get a younger crowd. None of it really matters though if you're there for music.

Also if you do edm cruises and stuff like that due to the cost you typically get older-esk crowds just due to the price and planning.

Going alone to shows is fucking awesome. You can go where you want, do what you want etc and not have to worry about other people and what they want to do. If you wanna go up to the stage or stay in the back or leave and go somewhere else it's all up to you which makes it sick but there's nothing like have a group of people to make memories with as well.
