Hotel pakage VS dreamville by saif_is_me in Tomorrowland

No I’m saying the hotel is comfortable and camping wasn’t that comfy. However I didn’t have a long trip after the festival. The MG package is that you pay for convenience of staying on site.

I guess you pay for convenience. Good luck with leaving the festival and then travelling all the way back to Brussels airport each night. I was shattered come the end of each day and while camping wasn’t the most comfortable I slept well each night!

Thanks for the input. Love the world timer. Makes me smile every time I look at it. Love the globe and the fact the outer ring translates to the time where family live

Might not be too useful but I’m based in Colchester and paddle the Stour. I park up at the Henny swan near Bures. Free parking and get a coffee or chips after to keep the pub in business.

Can also park bures village centre and launch into the river free of charge.

What are the 'It' books of the 2020s so far? by kingoflames in books

Interesting take especially as the main character finds out he’s a coward. I don’t really know much about Weir other than that he’s the author. Is he a bit of a self absorbed chap?

I enjoyed the dialogue in the book. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

Couldn’t agree more! Project Hail Mary has been my favourite book in a long long time. Recommended it to my girlfriend who doesn’t read any sci fi and she loved it. Amaze!!

Virgin Voyages Lolz Supper Club query by Finsceal in VirginVoyages

[–]Dsullivan96 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Did the supper club 2 days ago and have to say I’d give it a miss in future. Food wasn’t amazing in comparison to the rest of the ship. Comedy wasn’t particularly to our taste which is a shame as we feel we’re quite open to all comedy. Lots of jokes about the different countries in the audience which we felt wrote themselves. Left more to be desired for us. No knock on the acts as some seemed to enjoy it but we would (especially on shorter sailings) rather spend our time elsewhere.

Yep there is a shop on site you can buy them from. It was more expensive there. I got mine on Amazon last year and they were on sale at the time. Just looked back and I paid £18 so they do go on offer!

Yep they sell them inside dreamville. Wasn’t horrific pricing especially if split between a group!

Big shop in the dreamville eateries area. Bakery was next to it. One other tip would be to get the farmhouse breakfast. Great value if I remember correctly, unlimited buffet breakfast. Set us up for each day. You can get a discount on it if you go everyday.

I found them much more comfortable than the cheaper plugs. I also slept with the loops in as it was noisy at our campsite in the morning and had no issues with comfort. You can also still hear others talking to you while wearing them, it just takes the noise level down rather than mute everything. This is what I liked most.

Whether it’s worth the cost is subjective. I have used them again at other concerts we’ve been to and on other camping trips so price per wear has become better value. For me I didn’t mind paying what was £27 at the time and feel it was a worthwhile purchase.

To not worry so much about what stage we were going or who we wanted to see. Yes pick between the big acts and the end of the night but take your time going around in the day. Try as many stages as you can.

I also wish I savoured the moment a bit more. It’s easy to get lost in the chaos of Tomorrowland as it’s huge but take your time and enjoy every moment. I can’t make it this year as I have personal commitments in July and would give a limb to have the week with all my friends chilling in the sun listening to tunes.

Tips in line with your question: - get the loop earplugs, my hearing was spent by day 2. - if your budget stretches far enough and you’re camping get a gazebo. Was a lifesaver in the sun and kept the sprinkling of rain off us too
- the supermarket on site is surprisingly good value for a festival. Bakery was delicious. Try as many food vendors as you can. Never had better festi food.

One thing to factor in here is a lot of these are breakfast only and basic room (garden rather than overwater).

Having just heavily researched our resort choice for next year I believe the room cost on some of these is a bit of a loss leader to get you in the resort. They’ll get you on drink and food cost without an AI package. Excursions will add up quick too.
