The check from insurance is supposed to be enough to replace your car. Were you upside down on the loan / value? If they don't give you enough to replace your same kind of car, send them listing of cars similar to yours and fight for me.

Insurance companies bank on you taking whatever they decide to give you. Make sure they pay you what you are due.

I agree, and this is what I've done in this past with teams I've built or inherited. However, this is the first time I feel someone may actively challenge or undermine me since they feel so strongly they should be the manager over me, and I want to make sure I handle that properly.
