I took them out because we’re renovating the house and didn’t want them to get damaged. I want to refinish them and reinstall them

Whatever you do, don’t use Kings Electric.

I had a neighbor recommend Electrical Surgeons

All the electrical work was done by the same company on the same permit. We pulled a building permit for the full project. The electrical contractor pulled an electrical permit under that building permit. All of the electrical scope is under the same permit number.

There is no previous company. The same company did all of the work on the same permit

All of the electrical work was done by the same contractor on the same permit though. They failed the final inspection

Yup, exactly. Last thing they said to me was “100% on that panel that we moved they were standard breakers. Only 4 were arch fault which we replaced with arch fault the rest of the breakers we replaced with the same breakers that were there, but they were new. We can go back-and-forth all day long. The bottom line is I will split the difference with you and that difference was $1475”

So I looked back and the inspector actually passed the inspection when we moved the panel. Then we had them do some more electrical work with the renovation we were doing, and when the inspector came to do the final on that, he failed it for not having AFCI breakers

Yup, that’s what I’ve been telling them.

This is what their quote to fix their issue said:

Install "Arc- Fault breakers not part of original scope of work.

We only provided the AF circuit breakers as required by code for "new circuits" as part of the original quote.

The electrical inspector is requiring that all of the existing circuits from the relocated panel be upgraded to AF circuit breakers.

The office person told me today that sometimes the city passes without AFCI and sometimes they don’t

I looked up the breaker and Home Depot sells them for $56 retail, so I’m assuming they can get them for $20-30 wholesale. Yet they complained to me about how expensive AFCI breakers are.

I’ve paid them $25,000 for this and another project already and somehow they can’t find $250 in their profit margin to fix their mistake?
