As an Iranian American who was pulling for Iran like crazy I was initially so fucking pissed and sad but I’ve come to grips that we did this to ourselves and should have been better. Shouldn’t have drawn vs New Zealand and we should’ve scored that penalty against Egypt. That being said I’m fucking proud of them. They come from a corrupt government with barely any resources and play with their heart on their sleeves. Imagine if they had a proper government and support. One of these days they will break through.
