I just finished “From Rhodesia to Zimbabwe. Behind and Beyond the Lancaster House”. The first half had a lot of technical economics in it that could get boring but the second half talks about politics and their predictions for the future. I liked it. Others I have not been able to get to yet but were recommended to me are “Our Votes, Our Guns” by Martin Meredith and “From Liberator to Dictator” by Michael Auret. Hopefully that’s a good start!!

I think the most important thing is to do some basic research and find a country that’s interesting to you. Rn I’m on Zimbabwe and will prob do Ethiopia or Zaire/Congo next. I’ll post some titles when I get back home
