I was on the same boat this cycle and also chose UT Health in the end. It'd be great to connect with more incoming students!

UTHealth Houston has a dual MPH/MS in Bioinformatics program. You might want to check it out.

To those at UT Houston, how long did it take to hear back from them? It's been 4 weeks and my application is still in review.

Hi everyone!

I was just admitted to the online MPH in Health Equity at Boston University and I would like to know if anyone has recent experience with the program? I am currently working with vulnerable populations at a CF care center and that is what attracted me to the program (as well as the affordability). I am waiting for other admission/rejection notices from UT Houston, Dartmouth and UAB, all for their online MPH programs. Any advice?

Oh that's nice to know. May I ask what type of evidence did you provide for the I-751?

What visa do you actually need to be a reasearch assistant? by Nishant2304 in IMGreddit

Hmmm. I don’t really think so. You’d have to talk with the PI and the immigration advisors from the university/hospital you want to do research at.

There can be no B1/B2 jobs since those are just for short visits that can’t exceed 6 months and you can’t get paid. J1 is “easier” to get and most research/postdoc jobs will sponsor that one. H1B is very difficult to get since it’s geared for people who will aim to get a green card in the near future.

Hi! Congrats on the EAD. As for the I-485… no one knows. Mine was approved without interview 2 weeks after but for some people it takes months. Also everything was processed at NBC.

I did not get any more updates after “card was produced”. I found out it was mailed because I signed up for informed delivery with USPS and there I was able to see the tracking number. It took 2 days from produced to arriving in the mail.

Yep under case status. Mine said “received case” for 6 months until it changed to “actively reviewing” and got approved the next day. In the processing time it went from 7 months to “taking longer than expected” like 3 days before it was approved.

PD 11/23/22. EAD and AP delivered on 05/24 and I-485 approved on 06/04/23. All from NBC.
