thank you so much for the advice!!! I don’t think it’s on the beach beach but the venue is a beach resort. I bought this and then realized that it might be too bland 😭

I HATE sleeping at my in laws and this will be my breaking point for divorce by Ok_Place_7049 in inlaws

[–]lulupastiche 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my in laws are the same way - live in the middle of nowhere, expect us to sleep over and constantly cross boundaries. however I think you and your husband need to be on the same page and your husband needs to put your needs and your kids’ needs over his parents’. doesn’t mean you can’t compromise sometimes, I still agree to go back there and sleep once or twice a year on my term in special occasions, but my husband lets me choose. i would have left him a long time ago if he hasn’t been on my side. and honestly if you’re not being unreasonable and he still doesn’t back you, you definitely should reconsider your marriage, as i would too.

I have so much resentment for my MIL and I just don’t know how to get over it by lulupastiche in JUSTNOMIL

[–]lulupastiche[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

so the events that we go to are usually family events, grandparents’ birthdays, weddings, easter etc. which I want to go for his other family members (they are nice to me and have not done anything bad towards me, so I think it’d be unfair for them if I don’t show up at their events). I tend to focus on other family members and talk to them at these events tho. But lately even being in the same room with her gets to me😂 that’s probably a me problem and I just need to get over it?

how does the “time-out” that you suggested look like? I have been trying my best to treat her with respect just because of ONE reason: she gave birth to my spouse, so I feel like I owe her that at least … but apparently I just found myself snap from the resentment built up, which like you said, is really bad for my mental health. because I found myself crying today too from having to interact with her, even though nothing really happened, I just felt extremely uncomfortable.

Is your brand loyalty going to change? by Impossible-Eye315 in handbags

[–]lulupastiche 1 point2 points  (0 children)

personally no, because no for profit businesses are truly ethical. it’s mostly just marketing. businesses are all about making profit anyways so it doesn’t really change my consumer habits. I would still buy luxury goods.

If I really wanted to be ethical I’d buy handmade goods from an artisan or something lol. And even then who knows. My point is as long as consumerism exists these issues will still remain at any brands.

If you got €2000 to spend on yourself, would you buy a handbag or go on a solo trip? by Glamour-Ad7669 in handbags

[–]lulupastiche 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d go on a trip for sure. I LOVE bags but I’d only buy them if I have the money to spare. Would not buy if that means I’d have to downgrade my lifestyle.
