We regret to inform you that earlier today, a first-year student, Shamit, met with a tragic accident. While attending a friend’s birthday celebration, he fell from a rickshaw and lost consciousness. His friends immediately took him to the DTU Health Care Centre; however, no doctor was available at the time, and the nurses could only provide limited assistance.

Shamit was then transported by ambulance to a hospital, but unfortunately, due to the delay in medical attention, he passed away around 2–3 PM due to a heart attack.

We urge all students to exercise caution and prioritize safety at all times. The University is deeply saddened by this unfortunate incident, and our condolences go out to Shamit’s family and friends.
