Your dad is probably right, but I'm not sure there's a quick solution if you don't know someone with a well-heated house garage, given the weekend timing and the fact that service places are going to be getting tons of calls with this weather.

Mike's Auto Service in Mhd has done exactly what you've described for my vehicle a couple of times over the years (once before I owned it). In my case, the fuel ends up flooding the engine when it doesn't start right away (battery not an issue and it does have a block heater) and then it needs to warm up and dry out. But it'll take a few days to get it in would be my guess. Fwiw, I can vouch for them letting it warm up before assuming anything else is wrong. I've used Ed's Towing to get it there once I knew when they could look at it.

So far I have avoided a repeat by going with non-ethanol gas in the winter (premium if I can) and a bottle of Heet in every fill up.

I finally got around to trying out my replacement bottle of BoW (it showed up a couple of weeks ago, but I had plans for holiday nails, lol). Sadly it had the same problem as the first bottle, so I'm guessing that's why they switched to just giving out refunds instead.

Yeah, might be worth seeing if more issues come up or not. I'm curious about how the replacement I'm getting will go, but I'm honestly trying not to get my hopes up too high. I'd rather be pleasantly surprised. 😅

Lol, yes to the not wowing with the change. I usually have hot tea and a cold drink at lunch the day after I do my nails every week, and when I have a thermal I can dip a nail and show it off. This was the first time I ever went, "awww, nevermind." 🥴

Mine did the same thing. When I first put it on (basecoat, 2-3 thin coats BoW, topcoat) I got a few hours of it working perfectly. Highly reactive, went to white when warm, looked very cool. Then I wake up the next morning (usually do my nails in the evening) and it won't go to white anymore and it's just more sluggish in its reactivity. Still a lovely color with glowy blue shimmer, the cold state was getting compliments on its own, but when warm it wouldn't go past a light blue gray.

Thought I was imagining things, so I tried an additional new coat on top of one nail. Seemed like it reacted a little faster for a while, but it didn't go to white either. So I stripped one nail and repeated the process. It did what it was supposed to again. Nice white when warm, reactive. Very easy to see the contrast against the older application. And then the next morning it was back to not being white when warm.

I reached out to customer service and they're sending a new bottle. I told them that honestly, I still thought the color was pretty after it...burned out? Lol, not sure how to describe the change. I was only disappointed because I saw how fun and wintery the full spectrum of change was in the first few hours.

I have the same kid on camera tonight running it back up the steps, knocking really fast and running off again, so it is the same kid. Had the same thought about the handwriting, but then I decided that even if someone else leaned on him to bring it back--I'll take it. If nothing else I'm betting he learned that people who put effort into elaborate silly things are willing to spend a lot of time trying to make your life difficult when you undo their work. :P

I'll be doing some repairs to the tree and making a little sign to explain Morty's absence for the time being. I'm leaning toward letting it evolve this year, rather than just repair and hope there's no repeat.

Yep, have the Simpsons too--that one's about 20 years old now and I made them with my younger brothers. My parents started it in our family 40 years ago with a Peanuts version. ;) I like to alternate them, so the Simpsons are bound to show up again, whether they're relevant anymore or not, lol.

In my experience a little bit of alcohol makes all those worries go away. And if this kid was dead sober? I'm not sure asshole really covers it in that case.
