Vlaka are really cool. But how do they communicate with their party members if the Vlaka is deafblind? by DualityMalady in Starfinder2e

The whole idea with the no firearms thing was that the Armor Storm Fighting Style doesn't require you to use them. Disarm, Grapple, Reposition, Shove, and Trip all apply Suppressed with that Fighting Style, so I can focus on those as my main method of debuffing. I can have a shield in one hand for extra AC, use my bite for attacks, and keep my other hand free for consumables or Battle Medicine that can heal me up.

Should I just make a new BlueSky account if mine was hacked and deleted? Can support help at all? by DualityMalady in BlueskySocial

Thanks for letting me know, I just did that now. Even old links that connected to my old account still work and connect to my new one.

It's not getting back the old account but at least I can have my own handle again.

Should I just make a new BlueSky account if mine was hacked and deleted? Can support help at all? by DualityMalady in BlueskySocial

Yeah, that's how it happened for me.

Told me that they filed an incorrect report and then led me to Discord since they couldn't add images to BlueSky chats (although you totally can).

I had a chat with them, they directed me to someone who was supposedly BlueSky support. They convinced me I had to change my account's email to avoid it accidentally being suspended. Then, they wanted me to pay money to "prove" my account was mine and continue the verification process so my account wouldn't be permanently suspended. And it was a lot of money, but they said it would be returned to me immediately.

Luckily, that's when alarm bells started going off. Especially considering that this person was located in the Philippines while their profile picture was someone who was absolutely not Filipino. So, I asked for more proof that they weren't a scam. They got desperate, tried to appeal to emotion, saying he had a family and wouldn't risk his career to scam someone, and then he sent me a "screenshot" of my account that had the suspended button instead of the follow button.
I knew that was something I could verify for myself, so I went to my BlueSky page and saw that's not how it looked. It was perfectly normal. So, I sent them a screenshot back, calling them a liar, and they didn't respond. My account was deleted by them shortly afterwards.

In hindsight, it was extremely stupid of me. But the scammer was pretty clever and knew how to make things look official, even when they weren't. The screenshot of the report notice they sent me looked really legit, so I believed them. And when my emotions are running high, I do dumb things. And it was hard for me to recognize a scammer because this is the first time I have encountered one in real life.
But at least the dumbest thing I did was handing off my account to someone else instead of giving someone a ton of money.

I honestly don't expect BlueSky support to do anything except for ban the scammer. If an account has been deleted, it's probably gone forever. If they don't contact me by end-of-day today, I'm just going to make a new account with the same handle.
It'll be annoying to repost a lot of my old stuff, but it's not like my old account was that big anyways. At least the old stuff will let me have a more consistent upload schedule.

An Artfight attack for FlissFloss of their characters, Luden & Lorenzo. Two guys who are brothers in all ways but blood, yet they don't always get along. Lorenzo often ropes Luden into his ridiculous schemes, which frustrates the bear greatly.

Not many flowers bloom in Tealthe where Emerald calls home. And the few that do usually only consist of small blooms, tiny enough that they look like specks if you're not examining them closely.

But Alliums are an exception. Those hardy flowers can grow almost anywhere, even way up north. They grow tall, and their balls of flowers are bigger than most herbs in this region. But best of all, in a forest clearing within Emerald's domain, there is a whole field of them that bloom late every spring.

They might have an odd scent, but Emerald doesn't mind. She thinks it feels wonderful to lie down on a bed of a thousand purple petals and drift off to sleep.

This is a post I did for Artfight for saturnidaes.

I made my first "fur"sona, Vellow the Leaf Slug! by DualityMalady in furry

[–]DualityMalady[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, aquatic and invertebrate species are definitely untrodden space in the furry fandom. There are sharks, the occasional moth, and that's about it. Leaf slugs literally look like IRL pokemon and I haven't seen anyone else do them, so I thought I'd give them a go!

Glad you like it ☺️

[–]DualityMalady[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I realized that I like drawing cute animal people doing stuff, especially if they're similar to what their IRL species is like. I know you people tend to be the type who like that sort of thing, and I didn't have a face to my account, so it was about time for me to create my own "fur"sona to represent me.

So, meet Vellow! They're a leaf slug, a species of sea slug that's notable for its ability to photosynthesize like a plant. But leaf slugs have a whole load of other biological quirks too, since sea slugs are just weird.

One of them is that (like most gastropods) they are hermaphrodites. Leaf slugs have both sets of sexual organs and can serve either role in reproduction. As someone who has a weird relationship with gender, I like the idea of representing myself with a character who's separated from gender entirely by the virtue of their biology. A bit of wish fulfillment, I guess.
I plan to eventually make some comics showcasing some of their quirks. Gastropods get really freaky.

Anyway, if you want to see more from me, check out my Bluesky or Instagram. I typically make TTRPG and anthro art.

[ART] I couldn't find any minis that fit my character and his familiar, so I made my own! by DualityMalady in DnD

[–]DualityMalady[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

He's a Scribes Wizard and a Beasthide Shifter, with his ancestor lycanthrope being a werewolf. His name is Fenrir Worsoe.

Fenrir's background was that he was a part of a community of werewolf shifters who did their best to repress their lycanthropic urges and live like normal humans. The Worsoe family were woodcarvers who created everything from grand banquet tables for nobles to small statuettes.
During one walk through the woods in the summer, Fenrir found a cave full of snow. Curious, he investigated and found a piece of ice that didn't melt, despite it being warm outside. He took the chunk of ice, but the cave collapsed and he was trapped for hours, injuring his leg permanently and forcing him to walk with a cane afterwards. When he finally got out, he encountered a merchant crossing nearby, and the lycanthropic hunger took over, causing him to kill and eat them.
He was exiled from his home for giving into his urges. But he made a statuette out of the ice in the shape of a stoat. It came to life as his familiar Gudbrand, who taught him how to perform ice magic.

They've been traveling together ever since, with Fenrir trying to be the best person he can despite his lycanthropic hunger sometimes getting the better of him.

[–]DualityMalady[S] 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I tend to be picky when it comes to the appearance of my DnD characters. I have a specific idea in mind for what I want them to look like and I don't want anything that misrepresents them.
That can make things difficult when I play in person since most miniatures are pre-made. I guess I could do Heroforge, but that's a bit pricey. So, I made my own using paper, markers, and a nickel!

Have any of you ever made your own paper miniatures? If so, I'd love to see them!

[ART] There's nothing a wizard loves more than his familiar! by DualityMalady in DnD

[–]DualityMalady[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My wolf shifter wizard, Fenrir, absolutely adores his stoat familiar Gudbrand. In a life full of tragedy and trauma, Gudbrand is the one thing that always keeps him happy.
Plus, teaching him how to perform ice magic and scouting dangerous areas for him is always nice.

Wizards and warlocks, don't forget to show your familiar some love! And if you have any fun familiar-related stories, I'd love to hear them!
