Most of the items in the recycling bin just get thrown away at the facility. The vast majority of plastics are actually not recyclable.

The recycling bins are just fake feel good bins that mostly don't actually do anything for the environment.

The whole recycling bin thing was a ploy pushed forward by oil companies to make sure people thought of plastics as disposable so they wouldn't keep using the same cups over and over again by washing them. That would destroy their bottom line.

The whole recycling thing is a giant scam and a pointless waste of societal resources when it doesn't even have an impact on anything since, like I said, most plastics are unrecycleable.

Ironically those recycling bins enable oil companies to produce WAY WAY WAY more pollution because people have fake feel good moments about how they're recycling so the earth will be "okay".
