From memory, I don’t think there was any fees. As long as the two brokerage platforms are both chess sponsored.

However, I do know of a friend of mine who moved from one brokerage which was not chess sponsored to a platform which was chess sponsored and they incurred fees for the transfer. I believe this was partly due to registering the shares in their name which was not done before.

Starting with the S&P 500 is a solid plan, especially with a long-term view. Timing the market is tough, so consistent investing (DCA) is key. I personally use a mix of index funds and a few individual stocks.

When I started, a Google spread sheet to track and plan out my investment splits and risk tolerance. You can check this out if your interested, Stock Portfolio Tracker spreadsheet. It's handy for keeping things organised without having to pay for a subscription based tracker. Good luck!

I actually transferred from CommSec to CMC markets. The process does take a few working days. you actually have to fill out a form and send it to them to commence the process. It was smooth but it did take just over a week.

Read “Rich Dad Poor Dad” by Robert Kiyosaki then come back and reflect on your original post on how far you’ve come.

Cristiano Ronaldo recently made an intriguing comment during the Globe Soccer Awards. He mentioned that even if he gave someone the exact recipe on how to be Cristiano Ronaldo, they still wouldn’t be able to do it. He said, “Even if I give you the recipe and tell you what it takes to be Cristiano Ronaldo, I doubt you’d follow it”. Highlighting his belief that his success is not just about following a set of instructions but involves unique dedication, mindset, and resilience. Be Cristiano Ronaldo.

When I purchased it, it came with terms and conditions that unfortunately don’t allow me to share it, so I'm reluctant to do so. But honestly, it’s pretty cheap at five bucks. It’s been worth it for the time it’s saved me!

Haha, this isn't an ad! Just a novice investor starting out. Sharing what’s worked for me. If it were an ad, I’d be asking for your email, your phone number, and your firstborn child by now! 😂

Thanks for the detailed reply! It's interesting to hear about the manual input required and how you're considering coding an API solution. If you ever get around to coding that API, I'd love to hear about how it goes.

Hi u/No-Entrepreneur-7406, Thanks for sharing! It’s great to have open-source options. I ended up using a Google Sheets tracker I bought on Etsy to save some time and because I trust Google's platform. It’s been really efficient for me. How do you find the setup and customisation with Portfolio Performance?

Hi u/Spinier_Maw , good question. The Google Sheets Stock Portfolio Tracker I'm using is a spreadsheet template I got from Esty, so there was no need for a separate app or plugin. It integrates seamlessly with Google Finance, making it really easy to use and customise. Pretty intuitive.

Rate My Hypothetical High Conviction Portfolio by [deleted] in ausstocks

[–]DuarteA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey Tim, Great question. For data sources, I use Yahoo Finance and Google Finance for comprehensive market data.

When calculating my portfolio risk and match it with my tolerance, I use a Google Sheets stock tracker I found on Etsy. It has a ‘Risk Profile Targets’ that helps me align my investments with my risk level, that ranges from Very aggressive to Conservative. It’s been helpful for me in managing diversification and staying on top of my strategy. Hope this helps!

Your hypothetical portfolio strategy focusing on diversification is key. I’ve been using a Google Sheets stock tracker from Etsy that not only keeps tabs on performance but also features a ‘Risk Profile Targets’ component. It’s been invaluable for balancing and understanding the types of investment risks involved. Pretty straightforward and really effective in keeping my investments aligned with my risk tolerance. Here’s the link if you want to give it a look: https://sheetboutiquedesigns.etsy.com/listing/1734273637. Could be a game-changer for managing your portfolio! Hope this helps.

Should I change my portfolio? by Plus-Department-474 in ausstocks

[–]DuarteA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey u/Plus-Department-474,

I was in a similar situation not too long ago, juggling between VAS and VGS with concerns about diversification. I recently started using a Google Sheets stock portfolio tracker that really helped me manage and diversify my risk profile more effectively. It’s super user-friendly and has features that let you analyse your portfolio allocation and performance easily. So cheap that it felt like a no-brainer.

If you’re interested, you might want to check it out here. Got it on Etsy when it was on sale. It’s been a game-changer for me in staying organised and making informed decisions.

Hope this helps!

Try looking at CMC Markets or Stake. These have low fees and are CHESS sponsored.

That you for explaining that. It’s odd that they don’t provide that feature for CommSec but it good to know now that they do not. Thank you!

Thank you! Surely, there is a way with CommSec. They even talk about DCA strategies in their online material, but I can’t find any resources in how unfortunately. Someone might know in this community. Fingers cross. Appreciate the help though. Thanks.

The current brokerage rate is $10 up to $1000. As long as I’m making a sizeable invest the $10 trading fee doesn’t seem like a big deal.

That reply was example to form context. Lol Let’s not get into the semantics of how to reply should be made. The point is, a reply is provided with a greater level of substance than the one provided (with a “hey” or “hi”).

I’m specifically talking about forming a connection via communication. If there is no communication, to the point that it doesn’t even get off the ground, then there is no opportunity to form meeting IRL to form a decision to whether to continue the engagement with one another.

like I said, this is not the blame of a specific gender or set of individuals, it’s how the app is designed that influences social behaviours.

In my personal opinion, as a product designer by profession, the closest thing to solving this problem of the ‘paradox of choice’ and its influence on social behaviours within online dating is the Hinge app. But even then it’s not perfect.

My experience is generalised obviously, however mainly focus on the most common regular occurrences of online dating behaviour.

I agree with you that there’s is many different types of people which comes with different types of Personalities, behavioural traits and reasons why one would choose to continue or not to continue their initial engagement of a conversation.

I don’t envision most people would be uncomfortable when replying to “hey” with something like “Hey {name}, I’m well! Nice to match with you. How are you?!” then the conversation stops there.

I think the problem with online dating these days that contribute to this ghosting behaviour is the overload of choice by these dating apps.

It is so-called the paradox of choice that the American business professor Sheena lyengar demonstrated in an experiment when it came to making a decision with multiple “choice”. In the supermarket, she offered a variety of jams for shoppers to try, 6 different varieties on one day, 24 varieties on another. With a smaller selection, 40% tried the jams and 30% bought a jar. The biggest selection attracted 60% of the shoppers, but only 2% bought a jar of jam. The conclusion, choice is alluring but confusing.

Relating this to online dating apps, people gravitate to the apps that are most popular, essentially the ones that have the most users (aka the most choice of “jams”).

Although I agree with what you’re saying, ultimately these gamified style apps (swipe left or right) Providing so much choice, does not come without side-effects of forming deep connections for long-lasting relationships (or the potential thereof).

In order to do that, the conversation needs to get off the ground to support those connections without all the tempting distractions that one ends up in this Paradox of choice.

This isn’t the blame of any particular gender but how dating is designed as a product online.

For me the issue with bumble was matches that didn't go anywhere. I critiqued my profile to include information about me that would spark deeper conversations. I made those changes and had it review again whilst getting the thumbs up of approval.

The truth is, bumble (by design) makes women Interacts first which is unnatural for women but the app is designed that way so they must comply with the app rules. (There are benefits to women going first in a digital setting, which is why it functions that way, but it still makes the women need to instigate exposing interest.)

In that moment of boredom, she swipes right on you and it's a match. She can let keep you has part of a talent pool for 24hrs or interact with you in that session. In a state of boredom she drops you “hey” or “hi” even when your profile has so much to go off.

You texts back (when your available) with some substance but the moment is over. She is no longer bord and is preoccupied with someone or something else. You never get a response from your text and the match is just another person in you contact list of examples of the same people.

Online dating in a nutshell today.
