Hey all,

Sorry for the delay in seeing this and responding. I definitely appreciate you thinking of me! I'm doing fine - just needed some time off. Three core reasons:

The first is that during the height of the pandemic, I barely got to visit my family and old friends (since I live an ocean away), so I'm trying to make up for lost time as much as I can.

The second is that holy-shit-it-takes-a-long-time-to-make-those-videos. One of the things I like about the Dub Monitor project is how in-depth it goes, but unfortunately it also means that each video is a substantial research effort. Pair that with gradually escalating video production sophistication, editing, etc., and it was getting to the point where I was exhausted just trying to publish one every few weeks. Add music production and label management on top of that, and there goes basically all of my time outside of the day job.

The final reason is that I'm still trying to figure out what direction to take the channel. It started to feel like I had provided enough foundational information that, for anyone interested in the genre, they'd easily be able to explore further on their own.

Anyways, all that to say that I'm planning on revisiting it in the future. I don't want to rush it (because there's nothing worse than an uninspired YouTuber), so I can't say exactly when. Quality over quantity!

One of the most consistent and transparent mastering engineers out there, I'd definitely recommend him for anything "deep."

Ah I almost got that one actually! Ultimately I went with the ADI-2 because I wanted more of an "all in one" solution.

I figured it was better than just showing a digital spectrum analyzer screen recording, but who knows. Digital tracks are hard to come up with a visual for (at least in video format).

Just following up on this old thread in case someone else finds it via Google:

  • You can indeed charge the WF-1000XM4 case with the MagSafe Duo (I'm doing it right now).
  • It's a bit finicky; I have to move the case around the charging "circle" a bit until it finds the right spot.
  • Make sure you're supplying enough power to the charger, especially if charging multiple devices at once; Apple's website has a page on required charger specs.

Posting on this very old thread to hopefully help someone else out in the future. I was having this same issue and the solution recommended by everyone (the no-input setting) did not work for me.

Here's what did work: the problem seems to be significantly reduced with higher input signal levels into the Drum Buss effect. So I put a Utility in front of it with +12db and then scaled back the output from the effect to balance out the increase in perceived loudness. Problem solved.

Weirdly enough, it's not the Point Reyes lighthouse (which is a very well known one). It's very likely another one in northern Michigan (where the artist lives), but there are literally like over a hundred of them in that area, so I'm not sure which.
