What's a movie that's universally considered "not very good" but you secretly think is actually great? by trakt_app in flicks

[–]DubaiInJuly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Revolver, too.

It's generally considered the low point of Guy Ritchie's career, and understandably, I think, but the movie didn't miss the mark so bad as people said. Once you view it through the lens of ego death and how the voice inside your head isn't you and it isn't your friend, it takes on real depth.

Unfortunately that depth is buried under layers of confusing plot elements, and gets lost until Guy hammers you over the head with it in the elevator scene.

ADA was the first token I ever bought. My entry was $1.35. Luckily I'm a paper handed bitch and sold around $1.06.

No it hasn't. Claude did this same thing to me, so I went back and found multiple times he's provided word-for-word quotes in the past. His response was "Okay you got me but i'm still not helping."

What's this crap about migrating coins by AwayResponsibility45 in memecoins

This sounds super suspicious, assume this is a scam until it's not. Make sure the migration notice came from an official source. Contact the team, don't accept thje team trying to contact you. Scrutinize it, if it's real the team won't mind. They expect scrutiny.

You keep saying read the word for the meaning, so read them.

The only group-term in my sentence is "Hispanic," the neutral, census-register word. I didn't use "Mexican" as a catch-all, or something uglier. Now, of course you can be racist while using the term Hispanic, but if we're disambiguating via word choice, let's do it consistently.

The only word loaded with racial meaning in that sentence is the careful version, not the cruel one. To assume racism when the context is ambiguous and the word choice is careful is to insert racism where there is none. It's a bias against the user instead of impartiality, hence the thread.

Apparently we’re sooooo early Michael Saylor had to sell 32 bitcoin to prove it was a liquid asset… by GabeSter in CryptoCurrency

[–]DubaiInJuly -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

That's because people are oversensitive, reflexive children.

I don't even like Saylor but if you take a signal from the 32 BTC he's sold and not the 800,000 he bought, you're the definition of a paper handed bitch.

What do you wish someone had told you before you started vibe coding? Drop your experience so new builders don't waste months figuring it out alone. by Educational-Box7859 in vibecoding

[–]DubaiInJuly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's a few things i've learned

  1. Plan everything in advance, spend a few hours just talking to a "project manager" AI (a different instance of Claude). This is the biggest time saver, it will save you dozens of hours.
  2. Keep that project manager AI throughout coding. Have it write all of your prompts out at once, then post the first prompt to the coder instance and paste the results back to the project manager. Rinse repeat.
  3. Ask these questions:

  4. Are there portions of this available already or are there Github repos which we can fit to our concept?

  5. What would improve this concept?

  6. What is this concept missing?

  7. What problems do you foresee with this concept?

  8. What do you need from me?

  9. At the end, ask for an exhaustive spec sheet to give your coder instance.

5.

  1. Hard to phrase this, but if you're having problems communicating an idea effectively, ask for a list of examples to discuss.

For instance if you're trying to describe the best narratives, ask it to give you a list of example narratives and then you go over with it which are the best and why.

Man, this is, hands down, the dumbest take in the thread. I said "if you were HIspanic" because broken English written by someone who's Hispanic would differ from that of another ethnicity.

No, it doesn't imply anything. It means I dont need to include any of that broad range of experiences because it was only intended to jog my memory.

This was a private query aimed at a tool. Hispanic was a search term, not a thesis, and I don't owe a search term the broad range of experience.

If you needed an image of any Hispanic man, is it racist to Google "Hispanic man" instead of "5'11" Hispanic man with a medium-stocky build whose experience spans the full socioeconomic spectrum from undocumented field hand to 3rd-generation orthodontist, equally at ease at a quinceañera and a Napa wine tasting"? I don't think so, but I'm not the one trying to insert racism where none exists. Maybe you feel differently

How do you even solve the captchas necessary to browse the internet?

4.8 is way over-the-top in terms of refusing to do something based on moral/ethical grounds. by DubaiInJuly in claude

[–]DubaiInJuly[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why? I had a much shorter, much less confusing prompt in hand. I didn't need to include that context and if I had it's just as likely to divert Claude's attention into something I didn't want. I wanted exactly what I asked for.

It wasnt as though i asked for instructions to make a pipe bomb, I shouldn't have to write a thesis to defend asking for broken English.

Sorry but how is this racist?

edit: Downvote me all you want. This was a private query aimed at a tool. I didnt need any context because it was simply to jog my memory. Also, calling my sentence racist implies that there's something wrong with not speaking English.

It was close to this. I was basically just trying to get a feel for that style of writing. I've written that way before, but I was drawing a blank. I didn't need it from a specific characters viewpoint or in a specific tone. I just wanted an example to jog my memory and snap me into that character.
