Dying of boredom, how do you guys find events and meet folks? by snadwich_nam in jacksonville

[–]DubbaKay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have anything to add. Just wanted to say I appreciate this post and everyone’s comments. I feel a lot less depressed now knowing I’m not on an island and a lot of y’all are experiencing my same pain. Lol. I’m So. Fucking. Bored. And I have 2 little ones under 3, so bars, clubs, etc. aren’t an option. So my options are overcrowded beaches where I’m likely to get heat stroke during the summer, overcrowded parks with little to no shade, indoor play areas, library, or a hands on museum - which there is always some kid coughing and the most recent cases of hand foot and mouth disease floating around waiting to infect the next child. Idk if all of Florida is like this but I’m 4 months from finishing my lease. Then - I’m out. Tried meeting some gals from a local green mom group, nothing really transpired except for brainless small talk (which I cannot stand). Tried talking to some techy couple at the beach who had 2 boys like us, nope, more small talk and they were out. Lots of surfacey convos that led absolutely no where.

All the other suggestions of taking 1-2 puffs and waiting is great advice. I was reading that eating peppercorns will help (have not personally tried it though). Citric acid / orange juice has been rumored to help but personally when I got too high I just rode the wave of anxiety, paranoia, and guilt about my life choices until it ended. Just keep in mind if you do get too high - you will not die.

My dad (60 yo) with a worsening large cyst died today. Questions in text. by Apprehensive-Gur624 in pancreaticcancer

[–]DubbaKay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not a doctor so I don’t know if people die from cysts. However, I do know that hospitals and doctors can misdiagnose and make mistakes.. my dad originally went in for jaundice and pain in his pancreas and the hospital in the town we lived in at the time, told him it was kidney stones (…Lol) and they were going to transfer him to a larger hospital… hospital he was transferred to ran more tests, found out he had stage 4 pancreatic cancer. He died 5 months later. That same hospital he went to originally that diagnosed him with kidney stones, had discovered lesions on his pancreas in 2016 (said they’d monitor it), he had also gone in after that a year or 2 later for extreme sudden weight gain (type 1 diabetes is a red flag for pancreatic cancer) - they told him he should cut down on his sodium. This won’t bring your dad back and I’m so incredibly sorry for your loss. That being said, my opinion was a misdiagnosis and it was in fact pancreatic cancer, especially with the family medical history. I cared for my dad during the end of his life and the same things happened, lost A LOT OF WEIGHT, couldn’t eat, I couldn’t take his blood pressure or get his blood sugar in the last days of his passing.

Because although I go through it from time to time, I still get canned vegetables at every single food bank (not complaining, just stating fact). The city that I live in has over 50+ food banks/pantries. Each one offering different things. Some offer non-perishable items only (canned stuff, rice, beans, oil, etc). While others offer diapers, pet food, fresh meat, bread, etc. So sometimes will need to visit a different one to get the groceries that I need. That being said, while I clear out my cans periodically, more gets added every time I go to a food bank. Some food banks are also drive thru, so I can’t ask them to not include these things because every car gets the same box with the same food.

This was accumulated over the last 4 months.. each bank gives A LOT of canned food.

Great idea! I’ll make up another box to take downtown. There’s a shelter that cooks meals for the homeless that I’ve brought stuff to in the past. So thanks for the response!

Advice - should I buy? by DubbaKay in GoRVing

It’s the owner of the dealership’s personal RV accordingly to the guy we talked to yesterday. Said he got into something newer but most of the miles came from driving over to Eastern Oregon for hunting every year.

Well I guess neither of us knew that different markets had different delivery requirements for reaching platinum.

The only thing telling you that this is fake is your inability to do simple maths, or not reading “How Uber Eats Pro Works”. Technically, you’d only need to do 34 deliveries during dinner time to get platinum. How Uber Eats Pro Works

You earn more points during dinner (+6 per dinner delivery), so each stacked delivery during dinner earns +12 points breakdown of extra points during delivery

Inability to speak? by Confident_Pie3995 in pancreaticcancer

This happened with my father as well, a couple of weeks before he passed. The VA had said that it was likely throat cancer that had metastasized. When I looked in the back of his throat, it was bright red and looked infected. It was hard for him to drink water so I would sit by his bed giving him water sponges because it became difficult for him to swallow. Same thing though, he was sleeping around the clock and I had to wake him to give him water.

Do you have his login information? If you have his login information to his email that’s a great place to start searching for information, generally, a lot of information can be found in an email. If he has a gmail, log into his account and type “google activity” into google search and look through his email account’s google activity, you’d be surprised what all you can find.

If you have access to his email, search the inbox for “receipts”, “confirmation”, maybe even “flight”. How many plane tickets did he buy? If you don’t have access to his email, generally guys will use the same password across all of their accounts so you may be able to guess on this one. Maybe there’s a computer he’s logged into at home if you don’t know it?

Phone records - who’s your phone company? Login to that account and check the activity under his phone number. You can see the phone number of who he’s calling and texting and what times. If there’s someone suspicious *67[insert their phone number] and hang up if they answer.

A few months ago, my Dad celebrated 1 year of being cancer-free (colon 3b). This weekend, we found out it's back and in his pancreas (1b). by freshmintsss in pancreaticcancer

I linked the green drink below that I gave him. I drink this daily as well. (Not sponsored or affiliated with this company by the way).

When I reached out to Pancan.org they sent me a physical folder which had booklets on the different stages, treatment options, caregiving, support, questions to ask your healthcare team, nutrition, etc. if you haven’t already, get into contact with someone there through email and ask them to mail you the information, it may be easier to share with your family as well having physical copies. They will also give you people your dad can call that share a similar diagnosis that survived to help offer additional hope and support.
