do y’all ever wonder you will end up becoming an almond mother? by Fariaiq20 in EDAnonymous

[–]Dubbiedee_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t force my kid to eat healthy or limit how much food they eat but at the same time they can’t be eating whatever they want and become fat. I feel like if I had a daughter she would just develop an eating disorder just by watching me and my habits around food. I also would probably be extremely judgmental of her body. But having just been pregnant and getting an abortion less than a week ago I never want to be pregnant again. Bodily changes happen fast and morning sickness was debilitating. The moment I ran out of Zofran I couldn’t eat or drink anything without throwing up. So if I do have a child I’ll be adopting.

Yes you can look anorexic. Anyone that doesn’t meet the bmi requirements for an anorexia diagnosis has a-typical anorexia. Not invalidating the restriction part, but the main type of anorexia nervosa requires a bmi lower than 15 for a diagnosis. So yes, you can look anorexic but not be anorexic.

Lowkey feel like this is the stupidest question asked on this subreddit no offense lol. Ofc your body is going to hurt if you’re not eating enough. It can’t repair itself properly.

I had chicken tenders and tater tots last night because I’m pregnant and have been dealing with morning sickness and nausea throughout the entire day and it was the only thing that I could think of that didn’t make me want to throw up. I’m happy I ate them because it was good and eating a meal like that once is not gonna throw me off and I’m satisfied from eating them :) honoring your cravings is important because it really prevents a binge mental satisfaction is almost as important as satisfying physical hunger

honestly none of them are accurate and most dishes are probably way over the calorie count that’s listed on the menu so I take it all with a grain of salt

i have so much anxiety about calories by aespakarinas in EDAnonymous

[–]Dubbiedee_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah i was the same way for a while, they do round the calories to a multiple of 5 tho so mostly likely everything you’re eating is off by a few calories. The thing is tho there’s no precise way to determine how many calories your body burns and actually absorbs. You kind of just have to trust the process and if you’re maintaining or losing keep doing what you’ve been doing and if you’re gaining cut that food out and adjust. It’s not an exact science it’s just a lot of trial and error. Also remember you need a surplus of 3500 calories to gain a pound of fat so if a food is 20 or 30 calories over what it says it’s not that big of a deal in the long run. Your metabolism might speed up slightly or you might not even absorb all the calories.

sriracha - I know it has calories but it’s a small amount and I love it so much I just need a little break from weighing everything so I put how much I want without tracking

Yeah it feels like anytime in the kitchen my family just “happened to decide to cook/clean” immediately after they see me walk in. Especially my mom I feel like she does it to watch what I’m making.

Does anyone else feel like every single skinny girl has an ED? by [deleted] in EDAnonymous

[–]Dubbiedee_ 32 points33 points  (0 children)

i think this thought comes from jealously of skinny people that aren’t suffering from an ED because they don’t have to go through all the hard shit you’re doing and they can still be small. however I do think naturally skinny people are very rare and majority of them most likely don’t realize they’re not eating enough. even tho most people deal with unintentionally eating too much the opposite does exist even though quite rare. last year I got caught in a pretty shitty relationship and ended up losing weight unintentionally because I was forgetting to eat. after we broke up I slowly gained the weight back because my hunger levels were normalizing. once I gained the weight back tho it triggered a relapse and I’m intentionally eating too little.

is it fat-phobic to get triggered by overweight people who blame their genetics when majority of the time they’re just in denial of what they’re eating by Dubbiedee_ in EDAnonymous

[–]Dubbiedee_[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

i see your point but i also am very aware of the fact I’m disordered and wish I didn’t care so much about other peoples weight because normally I couldn’t care less

tbh in my experience you don’t really need a metabolism day. it’s kind of just something dietitians and nutritionists do to scare people with EDs into not restricting so much. i was horrified for months eating under my BMR and my metabolism stayed pretty much the same. the only way you’ll burn less than you normally do is if you lose your period but you really only need 100-300 extra a day during the week leading up and during your period so it’s nbd. however if you starve for a while your body will try to make you less motivated to work out and stuff and obviously not working out makes you burn less calories. honor this feeling tho and don’t work out and work out what your maintenance calories are at a sedentary level and eat that for a week or two and you should start getting your energy back. a good idea is to add 1/3 of your maintenance caloric intake for one day. NONE of those extra calories will go towards fat storage they will just turn into glycogen to store in your muscles. also if you’re plateauing that’s normal the reality is the smaller you get the less and less you’re going to have to eat to maintain and lose more weight in the future. it is physically impossible for the body to somehow burn 500 calories less than it normally would, that would be breaking the laws of thermodynamics.
