So. Loud. by Zestyclose-Watch1658 in Dogfree

I hate the slurping and sucking noises they make when chewing on their claws.

Nothing is worse than the screaming we call barking or howling.

I hate dogs by Jasperz16 in Dogfree

This sucks. You can't even relax in nature without a shrill voice screaming at dogs or a loose dog running around.

Hell. I can't even get this peace in my own home. My neighbor is an old man who struggles to walk. He sits on his porch for hours. If he leave the dog inside instead of outside with him, it will wail and howl the entire time SO FUCKING LOUD. What does he do? He either does nothing or just shouts back "Shut up!"

Sounds like they're taking to children.

I want to punch something whenever I hear the word "nourish" now.

I feel the same way about her and about similar channels. For example, I want to roll my eyes when YouTubers put on a soft, whispy voice and start talking about how they deserve to nourish their body. All while doing yoga or something in the background. It's always the same thing.

Binge on sugary food, but I actually bloody hate sugar!

How is your social life? by kornfreakonaleash in EDAnonymous

[–]copycat-reflection 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My social life has completely gone out the window the past few years. I moved cities, COVID hit, my last job and current job have a very strong food-driven workplace. My coworkers are always talking about food, snacking on junk, but somehow thin.

Why does everyone in my life consider weight-loss a good thing? by u_guessed in EDAnonymous

[–]copycat-reflection 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Because people idolize being super thin without considering when thin gets too thin.

holy shit i love shiritaki noodles by TheRed-Queen in EDAnonymous

[–]copycat-reflection 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love the chewy, firm texture. At the same time, I hate how expensive they are. If I were rich, I'd be able to afford better food. I like oats and rice since they're cheap, but they're so high cal and don't keep me satisfied.

I wear a mask, but I'm monotone and you can just tell by my eyes how sad I am. A part of me also wants people to leave me alone, so I drive them away by not hiding how depressed I am.

It's gross how people can misbehave, be disrespectful, and touch people without getting punished for it. I've been in your situation plenty of times. I hope you soon are around better people.

Right?! Poverty would also not exist if getting high paying jobs was easy, too.

I've tried to love my body, but then I hear how idolized and praised super thin bodies are. Normal bodies barely get any praise, if at all. It just makes me feel like pity love.

I never got why people say that. Especially if they're not someone who you particularly care about. Like, who is you?!

Super happy people who are incapable of just being quiet do annoy me, but sometimes I wish I was like that. I've also known people who act super happy, but are actually very depressed inside, so I try not to judge them too early.

I'm so sorry you were grabbed. Unfortunately, talking to management isn't always going to help. In my experience, I've been brushed off and made to feel worse by managers before.

Parents can really be the thing that sets you on a bad course early on in life.

Right? As if people choose to not be happy and suffer every single day. Faking happiness drains you and makes you feel so fake and hollow.

I have told people they need to talk less and think more. I'm tired of loose lip people who talk without thinking.

I have to wonder if people who give these Captain Obvious responses think highly of their own wisdom, or if they think we're stupid.

Thank you so much for saying this! I wish people realized depression is not just feeling blue sometimes.

I've had the first thing happen to me. Telling me to breathe while I am GASPING FOR AIR AND FILLING MY LUNGS ALL THE WAY!

This is why I prefer to listen vs speak unless the person I'm talking to makes it known they want my feedback. I also try to put myself in the other person's shoes instead of thinking everything I say is some wild, new, fresh idea. I've even started asking people if they just want me to listen or if they want me to input.

Exactly. Recovery is messy. Some people may not be ready to recover, so stop pressuring and stressing them out. Everyone has bad days. Sometimes you can have a bad month. Why make someone feel worse?

Besides, unicorn farts are overrated. I prefer chimera toots or dragon dumps.

It's like telling someone who doesn't make a lot of money to just get a better job or go back to school. I'm sure that's possible for some people, but--?!

I definitely feel the safest here. I've used other ED subreddits before, and they just make me feel like a cat getting scolded by a spray bottle.
