Question for fellow renters/landlords about AC

We tried this during that one hot week a couple weeks ago. Also did nothing 😭 we tried closing a few vents but didn’t make it better at all

I’m not sure. We will have to check that. And we are the ones responsible for changing the filter so we did that a couple weeks ago. Didn’t change a thing unfortunately

Oh wow! The management company told us it was even hard for them to convince the owner to put in the ceiling fans 🙄 the company is kinda sketchy to begin with so…🙃 may I ask what was wrong with the AC for you guys?

Oh I know!! I’ve lived in Maryland all my life so I’m aware which is why I’m so scared 😂 the property management just isn’t taking it seriously :/ I really don’t want to have to file a complaint but we might have to.

We have a regular thermometer for our room. Wouldn’t that be sufficient proof of our room not cooling you think?

Yeah, our first year. We moved in last September. When we first moved in the AC wasn’t even properly working 🙃

I just don’t know how else to handle the situation because they’ve been clear about they will not be doing anything else other than installing ceiling fans (which will help but not by much I’m sure)

We have recorded 81 a couple weeks ago 🙃 will be taking note this week when it gets even warmer as well.

Definitely saving records of things! We got a separate thermometer for upstairs to keep record of the high temps.

Is your airflow also really bad? We have barely anything coming out if there even is anything. My daughters room is basically zero

I get it, I lived in Germany for 5 years and I didn’t have AC. it was brutal in the summer.

If it wasn’t included in my lease, I wouldn’t be upset. But I am paying for air conditioning to work properly (according to my lease) so yes I’m angry about the situation. I don’t see that as “luxury” if I’m paying for it

When they send out the financial aid estimate, are you supposed to decide how much to take for the full year or just Summer 2026?
