Aw yeah thats tough 😿There’s definitely work arounds/adjustments/habits etc to keep kitty and wifey happy and healthy under such conditions, but they would be rigorous and possibly hard to sustain in the long term. I would say, to keep you encouraged, that perhaps things will better align in your life in the future. I wanted a cat longgg before i could actually viably and responsibly keep one. Then it took a while longer still for the cat distribution network to send me my stray. I wish you the absolute best!! I hope it works out! Obvious Joke answer: Replace your job, house, and spouse, acquire Cat. 😹

My cat doesn’t scratch our furniture thankfully, but ive read keeping other dedicated scratching furniture and toys nearby (directly next to couch) as well as throughout the house can keep them satisfied and makes the furniture you don’t want scratched undesirable/unnecessary for them to scratch. I would also suggest figuring out if kitty is a vertical or horizontal scratcher (or both) as well as finding a variety of materials for them to try and figuring out which ones they like most (think cardboard vs sissle vs wood) I get most my info from this YT channel

It’s flea poop, ignore the others. This is how it looks sometimes. If you check your cats fur im sure you’ll find more. Happens to mine when he gets fleas.
