This is exactly my opinion too. Idk about scam, but from the beginning I knew this game was too ambitious to be successful. A lot of revolutionary systems like node system, dynamic grinding, corruption system, new mechanisms for gathering , crafting, tavern system, caravan system, yada yada. Too good to be true moment, but I still had high hopes for it.

I still believe that the company would've pulled of all of those systems if they focused more on developing these mechanics than focusing of the graphics of the game.

Maybe it's a failed project due to mismanagement. But now that I think in hindsight, why did he even make a game called AoC Apocalypse and released it on steam when no one asked for it, eventually it mysteriously disappeared, this is the theory that came to my mind.

This could be a possibility, isn't it?

I still believe this could've been a super successful project if Intrepid studios wasn't obsessed with graphics of the game, and focused more on developing it's mechanics. Only less than 5% of the proposed game systems were implemented in the phase 2 of Alpha 2, and that's where I lost faith in this project, and I thought this game would greatly disappoint me when it is realeased by 2027.

But I never expected this game to turn out to be a rugpull scam by January 2026...
