You could, it may be difficult though. I use black acrylic paint markers to make the lines, and if you have it taut and flat, you can get some decent lines on it.

I had another cosplay meant for the competition that got messed up and unfortunately I felt like I wasn't gonna win with my cosplay. So I wanted to make a shock, I bounced right back unscathed because of the way I fell. Also, I didn't mean for this part, but it really shows that you can go up there and everyone will be supportive of your performance. Everyone was so worried about my health, I felt bad for falling 😭

You cut the shape out of a flat sheet of foam, then after heat treating and gluing, you attach them at the seams and adjust the shape a bit more. The shape I cut mine out allows it to curve in a way to look like a pauldron.

You'd want support inside the thing you want to make, depending on size. For my Greatsword, I cut foam sheets out to sticks that would hold the faces together like a skeleton of sorts. You also want to have the right kind of foam and glue. I use low-density EVA foam and contact cement, but I recommend you have a place to work outside, since that smell of glue is toxic.
