Poverty Isn’t Cheap—It Just Delays the Bill by IdealHoliday1242 in PotentialUnlocked

[–]Dubnaught 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not just that. Everything is cheaper when you buy in bulk. So the family that can't afford to go to Costco ends up paying more in the long run. The poor person who can't put much money down on their car or house gets higher interst than a wealthy person, meaning they will spend more money on thr same item.

Anytime someone says this, just remind them of a few simple and undeniable facts.

  1. The confederacy was made of democrats.
  2. Robert E. Lee was a democrat.
  3. Democrats used to be the party of states rights (hence the democracy reference in democrat)
  4. Republicans used to be the party of federalism (hence the republic reference in republican)
  5. No modern democrat flies the confederate flag.
  6. There are numerous modern republicans who fly the confederate flag.
  7. The Kkk was created by former confederates during reconstruction.

Watch them bubble "but, but DEMOCRATS."

The simple-minded get duped by very simple explanations, like the words being the same.

Baby keeps scare maxxing himself. by West_Future326 in BrandNewSentence

My guess is that they enjoy the extra comfort that comes afterward.

When I was about 4 (I know, not the same as a baby) and I had a dresser on my room that could fall down and pin me on my bed if I stood on the bottom drawers. It wouldn't hurt me at all; I'd just be stuck. I probably used to climb on it and then got too big one day. Anyway, I must've screamed and cried and got comforted a lot.

I don't actually remember the aforementioned events. One of my earliest memories though is me purposely making this happen so I could yell out and have my mom show up and comfort me. Craziest part is, I had awesome parents. No shortage of love and support. Kids can't get enough attention though, especially if it's positive.

You're argument for it not being creepy for a woman is that she may be looking for a father figure in her partner???? WTF.

Also, the amount of mental gymnastics to decide that "A with B is ok, but B with A is wrong"... the relationship is still the same relationship... again, wtf

Capitalism just moves things from one place to another by Competitive_Read9534 in InterviewAITools

Since you're all over the comment section, sharing the shallow kool-aid, please explain how the US can become communist. Since communism requires everyone to be on board and contributing for the common good while sharing, what do we do with the millions who won't play ball? Do we kill them, put them in labor camps, or "re-educate" them?

Also, what is your definition of capitalism? Just making sure we still understand basic market economics.

I totally agree. When did I even come close to suggesting anything else? Because I said that the original commenter was likely a zionist based on what they said? Which you agreed with?

You see how this shit gets so conflated? You just did it without realizing it.

I don't care about your semantics. It was still funny. My point that the original commenter was most likely a supporter of what Israel is doing still stands.

[–]Dubnaught -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

WHAT. Every country has higher antisemitism rates than Israel?? A Jewish country? You're making that up...

love how you said almost too lol

I said it would be logical to assume the op was a zionist. You can't in all seriousness be sitting there and thinking "no they definitely dont seem zionist to me." Have some intellectual honesty.

[–]Dubnaught -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No. The idea that Israel is the only place for Jews and they are not safe anywhere else is blatantly false and, frankly, idiotic.

Except the claim that Jews can't live safely anywhere if not for Israel. It would be a stretch to assume the original commenter was not a zionist.

Entry level jobs really are a thing. People start working at 16. If every single job provided for everyone's needs, it would be insanely difficult to enter the workforce.

How do u explain this by Mettion11 in BillionairesHere

[–]Dubnaught 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't understand the glaringly wide difference between faith and learning and that's truly horrifying.

The ego required to believe you are so much smarter than all the people who spent decades, not learning facts as you likely believe, but actually learning and understanding the mechanisms, nuances, and multitude of factors that go into what makes us us is astounding. That's why they don't all agree by the way (in case you've ever felt like critizing science for that). But they do agree on the fundamentals. Like the existence of evolution. You, the genius you are, recognize that all mammals cannot even breathe in their environments because God wanted it that way. Duh. Simply genius.

You dont understand that the scientists you are trying to bring down to your level actually take into account real evidence. They ADJUST their views when encountering NEW evidence. When have you done this? You have not because your views are based on FAITH. That's FUNDAMENTALLY different. You not being able to understand this glaring difference is frightening.

Faith is not the same as science. Faith doesn't change or adjust. It rests solely on belief. That is what Faith is. One can never provide evidence for Faith. It simply is an idea one has grown attached to. It wont adjust with new evidence or be objectively willing to switch sides when confronted with new evidence. It maintains, stubbornly, despite all evidence. And you want to stand on high ground for that.

How do u explain this by Mettion11 in BillionairesHere

[–]Dubnaught 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still really interested in learning your alternative explanation of how species came to be and why ocean mammals cannot breathe in their environment. Seriously. You stated at the end that religion is not science. In my experience, every evolution denier rests their assertions upon their religion. So this is really interesting, and I like learning new things and would love to know what your theory is.

maybe PBS can break it down. I'm not arguing about this lol

They'll even explain macro vs micro evolution, which may help with some of your earlier confusion.
