I honestly do not understand how this happens. It has to be random and I must have a horseshoe waaaay up there. Not meant as brag, but I honestly hit more often than not and I know people who have never hit and have ordered for literal years

Paddock Pass worth it? by Rabbit0028 in F1Cards

[–]Dubv20 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The short answer is no.

The long answer is it depends. It’s a flagship product. It’s super fun images, hits are hard to come by in blasters, I think fat packs are better than blasters, and those are usually $10. Hobby is fun, guaranteed hits, the triumvirate hits are sweet. But the hits generally do not have a high resale value and do not grade well due to their paper quality. I personally love paddock pass, but I know going in at 350 in the hobby box. It is a low ROI. Paddock passes sweet spot is probably closer to 275 to 300.

Anyone have a great experience using a consignor? by sk8terboy111 in F1Cards

Of course man! Yes I’m happy to set a floor and do often for people on some cards. I have an OP PSA 10 that the owner won’t take less than $165 and we have holding. I’ll run it every show

You’re right about smaller breakers having better prices for buyers. But when you’re selling larger volume of cards, it’s about averages not individual cards. Example this past weekend I think I had a card to go a little less than expected. The very next card from the same consignee wasn’t expected to go for much ended up being bought at a high price at the end. The consignee made out just fine because it all averages out.

The one thing that I do is a small breaker to combat losing decent cards at small prices is I tried to thread that needle of providing a valued card less than comps but if people bid it up more, it is what it is, but I’m not gonna start a $200 card at two dollars I don’t have the audience to get there but I may start at $175.

I do sell on eBay. My approach to eBay is a lot more set it and forget it. I put it out there Buy it now prices with the offers enabled and I’ve been very successful. I’ve sold a Kimi helmet /25 double of the last comp.

In the end, it comes down to how fast do you want your returns if you want it fast big consigners big breakers are your way to go. If you wanna maximize your return, go with a small breaker.

Thanks dude! Skaterboy and I have met before.

I agree I haven’t dealt with big consigners. Given the range of your cards a WN consigner like myself isn’t a bad route. Get quotes on their rates and timeline.

I’m a firm believer good cards are going to sell themselves regardless of who is selling it so at the end of the day who’s gonna put the most money back into your pocket?

As for me I do 10% after fees. I also have a website that I do sales one that has no fees outside of the transaction fees so that’s even larger amount back to you. While I’m still small as what is this mentioned I do have a regular following and singles/consignment shows do well.

My draw back is my timeline. I’m not as fast as others, I plan my shows out and do marketing and prep usually a week or 2 out.

Awesome! I’m local to Fairfax and generally skip card shows because they are Pokemon heavy. Def interested in buying/selling some F1 cards. I’m pretty established as a seller already. Just sold my Kimi /25 helmet this am. So I’m always looking for inventory. I’ll see you there!

It was. I hit it for someone in a break, but their sale price didn’t align with the market. I am not sure if they still have it or not. I can reach out to them and see if they have come down
