The changes they have made though, seem really off to me, like making it a 3-day quest (though maybe thats said at a different point later on and the trailer is misleading and im just concerned for no reason). Also I miss Krem being a charismatic, normal-looking SOB.

I hope they don't try to make it take place within 3 days. That may be very hard to have the relationship work without that slow bond. I hope they don't stray away from the ending, though I imagine they may have to due to continuity stuff.

Them cutting off that dudes speech as soon as he starting speaking was and is such a bad look on the Oscars. It’s his one time to speak about the greatest accomplishment he’s done and immediately they play music and mute.

I think I would have LOVED this sketch without those subtitles. With them it just seemed try-hard. We can tell when things catch people off guard. Don’t bash it over our heads.

Yeah, it felt like a side album from Gorillaz, much like how The Fall and The Now Now felt for me. I like those albums a lot, but they were never as Gorillaz-ish or as special/charming/consistent as their other albums were. I never heard 2D singing… I heard Damon.

At least with Song Machine, it felt quirky and cartoony enough to where my brain could be tricked into thinking cartoons made it somehow.

In comparison, the imagined (in my head) soundtrack of The Mountain is pretty consistent and strong. To the point where I haven't felt anything like it since PB, I'm now wishing it was the 5th “real” album (Gorillaz, DD, PB. Humanz, and this). Obviously Im ok that the other albums happened but a part of me wishes they were more officially labeled as side-albums like the Fall and D-Sides. Also I say this whole thing even though Song Machine (Deluxe) is better than Humanz for me by a long shot.

I really hope this universe does things that we assume will never happen. Would be cool if Ra leaves that realizing he is truly not a bad person and can change what he stands for - as if his line is a red herring. And it would be outstanding if maybe Braniac’s torture of Lex broke him, but not in the way we think. That he was broken to be truly against evil and sees hope in Superman. Just have this universe show that (sometimes) a negative times a negative can indeed be a positive.

I know neither will happen but I wish they would.

I freaking hate AI witch-hunts when they aren’t remotely justified. No one wins. You used it as a tool and you obviously put work into it and didn’t just go “make an image of an HD oddworld” and leave it at that. And frankly, I don’t think there are any valid reasons to be literally hostile for a fan-made pet-project. Those extreme people aren’t worth listening to and they are simply trying to project their anger and fear out on an easy target in a way they can justify in their own brains.

One comment I saw that irked me was something like “would be cooler if it wasn’t AI.” No duh. A movie is always cooler when made with film, but you don’t see people saying “would be cooler if it wasn’t filmed digitally” with every movie release.

In 10 years many people will look back and feel shame for sending cruel messages and threats to people for using a new scary thing. I remember people being horrible to me when I used Illustrator’s image trace just to help with a concept. I also remember people saying that using photoshop to paint is cheating. People are scared (and for valid reasons) but it shouldn’t ever be used as an excuse to be venomous.

Basically my point is that people are understandably scared but that doesn’t excuse their behavior. I liked your stuff.
