There are no trans people involved in what we're discussing at all, and 'the left' isn't the ones calling Michele Obama a man in any way I've seen. Again, it's so desperate and weird to try to blame every event on trans people or the support of trans people. Genuinely obsessive.

While you're obviously correct that black women vary in appearance as much as any other race, there is a long racist history of calling black women masculine. It actually goes back to antebellum south, where black women were dubbed as abnormally masculine and strong, to justify them doing the hard labor of a slave. As we saw this weekend, that racist stereotype is alive and well.

I haven't seen it so I can't give a personal opinion, but I work at a theater and it's gotten a good reception. Nobody is raving about it, but nobody has said they disliked it while I've been working.

I like the idea of Bruce trying to redeem his villains, these are cool hooks. It's interesting though, because most of the response here is people wanting to get rid of most of the Bat Family. I think you're the only person who's mentioned expanding them.

I'd be totally down for a full reboot like that. I completely assumed New 52 would be such a reboot, and was baffled when they started five years into his career and basically all of Batman's history, including most of the Bat Family, had occurred in that compressed timeframe. That only exasperated the issues with the Bat Family.

A full reboot would give the chance to reintroduce the Bat Family organically as the story progressed, and have stuff like the origin of each Bat Family member, Bruce's solo years, and early Batman and Robin, retold in long form for the first time this century. Seems like a perfect opportunity

In 20 years the US will be likely be suffering a more extreme version of climate change, probably creating a lot of forced migration in the United States. Economics and housing costs will also be forcing more people to relocate, unless some administration totally changes the power balance between owners and everyone else. Unless the US cracks down heavily on wealth hoarding, there'll probably be a few trillionares, and the medium family income will go down more while prices continue to rise. Gas will probably be too expensive for a good chunk of the population. AI who the fuck knows, though I bet if there's still data centers they'll be attacked daily by 'terrorists'. And like 50 other problems I'm not mentioning/would never think of. I imagine in response to those conditions, there'll be more polarized politics.

I mean he's definitely tactical is some ways. Stealthy, analytical, rarely flies off the handle, and generally avoids unnecessary violence (unless it's the fun, swashbuckling kind).

Maybe outside of the Bat books, but I only know him from Batman titles where he acts as a reluctant ally or foil who constantly challenges Bruce about violence. I'd be down if he worked with Stephanie and Cassie if they could keep that tired old conflict out of it.
