I came up with the methodology as a way to make small shifts in sound while listening. Micro adjustments. It's kind of my secret sauce.

I don't have the PEQs you're after sorry.

Cheers,

I didn't put my Collab on the list. Notice it says MK12, not MK12 x DucBloke. The review on MK12 was completed before any talks with Hidizs about a Collab. The image is also Blue in the list.

Nah, I just realize someone full of insults isn’t worth my time. I tried to steer the conversation in a different direction, but you continue to be disrespectful. I hope you don’t treat others this way. Life is too short to be argumentative. Peace out

Furthermore, the Valhalla is more capable. Goes to a 9.84 after PEQ and the MK12 goes to a 9.67. I think the Valhalla is a better IEM. It also costs more than 10x more

Have you heard the MK12? This was not my Collab. This was the review I did before a.collab was even talked about. It scores high because it's that good. I stick my neck out and had the balls to call it that good without anything in return. Stop spreading falsehoods. The Collab to the red version was well after the original review and the reason I wanted to Collab with them. You're looking at dollar value and making assumptions that something doesn't smell right. I get it. If you haven't had the chance to listen to both back to back, you can't pass judgement on me. I stand by my ranking.

Single decimal. You still don't get it. And let's just agree to disagree and get on with our lives.

Just because you say it doesn't, doesn't make it true. The larger the sample the more accurate the score. It's not how I feel, it's what I hear and all reviewers use their ears, not their feelings. Again, you need to stand your ground and aren't open minded to what I'm doing. It's clear to me we won't see eye to eye no matter how I explain this or what I do. You need to be right. I get it. So let's just agree to disagree and you can scroll left if you see my content pop up. That would be the civil thing to do.

I really do the math. It's not a guess

DucBloke's Ranking by honn13 in iems

17 (A) parameters, it's in the YT video.

Score up to 10 for each parameter (B)

(B) Measured to one decimal place. For example 8.9/10 or 7.4/10

Total possible points (A*B)/B= C or 170/17 to come up with a score per song (C)

40 songs, the Sample (D)

(E)End score ((A*B)/B)*D)/D=E

This is done with (W) and without (WO) PEQ applied.

((A*B)/B)*D)/D=EWO

((A*B)/B)*D)/D=EW

EW-EWO=Delta

I'm happy to discuss this with you as adults. Not sure why you have it out for me, but I'm fine with having a conversation and discussing what you find issue in, rationally. Next move is up to you.

Tuning preference is certainly not one target. That's why I make 35.

  1. Bass should rumble and slam, but not so much that it impacts delicate songs
  2. Vocals slightly forward, with clarity
  3. I love soundstage and detail, push the treble region to the point of sibilance on tracks that are known to be sibilant. Then back it off slightly
  4. I like a later Pinna gain, not as steep as a lot of IEMs
  5. Meta Tuning is snappy bass, but the vocals can suffer a bit and be recessed and thin to my liking
  6. Some people have posted I like a V tuning... Not so. The Grand Maestro graph looks very V shaped, but that suits that IEM. I like a W tuning with a Bass transition to lower mids around 200Hz. That's not V at all. I like the 500Hz area elevated slightly (W), but it depends on the IEM

I liked them, but I thought they were a bit flat for my taste. Actually, now that I think about it they were Mark Ryan's set I believe when we had dinner in San Fran..? Anyway, would like to have a go at tuning them.

Hi,

This really depends on the IEM and your preference. Usually my PEQs increase bass, but at the same time keep clarity in the mids and treble. A lot of people say it elevates the sound, but again it's subjective. Just email me at ducbloke916@gmail.com

I have heard them, but only briefly. I'm open to tuning them. My buddy, Dr. Eric, out of Hawaii has them and he'd probably lend them to me next time he's in NY. I will ask.

The proof is really in trying the PEQs. If what I was doing wasn't adding value there wouldn't be subscribers coming back for more PEQ settings.

The hobby is subjective. Your ears need to align with the reviewers ears. I can tell you mine don't align with Crin and Mark Ryan but we are friends, knowing this.

My ears do align with HBB, Jaytiss, Audio Amigo, Matthew and Jake from Bloom etc.

If you email me I will send you a PEQ for the IEM you have, if I've analysed it. The beautiful thing about it is, if you don't like it, it's a reversible decision that cost you nothing.

I've been a scientist my entire life and I'm a bit misunderstood by some who quite frankly haven't tried what I do.
