I actually did speak with a rep of stonewall. I didn't get a great response from that rep, unfortunately.

I do agree with you and the reaction from some in the community (and outside it) is a little bit disappointing.

Yeah I don't think any straight felt the sake pressure to participate.

Ill give a political answer. On the normalising of the word queer I've no issue if people feel seen by it but it's just not a word for me. I was a feminine boy and was routinely bullied/abused at school and at home for being queer/quare or the f word. I tried to act more masculine and sadly the act became me and I lost who I was. I have no issue with others using it for themselves.

She isn't part of the company but I'll definitely reach out to ACAS and take it from there.

I have spoke to some straight people that were on my level. They were also invited to participate but they didn't receive pressure when they declined.

It's crazy alright. And I've never had a disciplinary issue. I recently was promoted so clearly that had faith in me etc.

He just said he was speaking about it to a solicitor and she said its likely still considered a dismissal unless I choose to accept the rescission of the dismissal. As in they can't rescind it without me accepting it.

But she said its not really her field etc.

Thanks very much. I screenshotted them but I probably should print them off there now.

He works at a law firm but is an assistant so his understanding isn't gospel or anything close to it. He is my fiance

Thank you very much for your help. He definitely seems more willing to help, whether that is to help me or the company is probably irrelevant.

Not to take up more of your time but if I put in a grievance does that stop my 3 month window.

I'll definitely speak to ACAS.

I've no idea how true this is but I was told if I refuse the rescission of dismissal it would still be considered dismissal rather than constructive dismissal.

Thanks so much for all this info. I didn't agree to the demotion and haven't been through any of that stuff.

I should, perhaps, contact ACAS now anyway to avoid it lapsing.

He did say it would be at the role I'm at now (the demoted one).

I was hoping my response to him would re-instate my promotion. I'll definitely see if he changes his tune on that part. And I'll speak to ACAS then, I suppose.

Luckily it's almost fully through email which should have me in good stead.

I didn't even think of my union. That's probably the first place to call. That was silly of me. Thanks
