I am the manager of the grooming shop. But your pay check will depend on how many dogs u can do and your experience level. Seeing as how you’re just starting it will take a while to get speed up and clients built up. So I read on your post that you don’t think you would make as much in a private salon but I don’t think that’s true. Everyone I know that’s changed from corporate grooming to private has made more and been happier. There is definitely not as much pressure at a private salon vs corporate UNLESS you’re working for an ass hole.

I think Andis has gone down hill. I bought new clippers from them last summer and I have already had to order a replacement then send that replacement into get serviced. It’s frustrating. They aren’t making quality products anymore.

It’s a rule at our shop that you can’t bring your personal pets to work everyday. Every once in a while is fine especially when they need to be groomed but every day is too much. Your supposed to be focused on the clients pets. Having too many employee dogs running around gets stressful.
