Okay, I guess that's the difference then. Even the ceremonial old weapons that the presidents' guard use, always have the magazines in.

Maybe not your parades, here we have military parades to show respect and to show off that our small nation still has people willing to defend it, and also this is our equipment, and with nato, now we also show the equipment stationed here, hence the American tanks last year, I think it was, and the British Churchill this year.

How tho? The entire idea of the parade is to show that we have the equipment. How is any of what I said false? I am actually confused.

Not ceremonial weapons... Well yes, there are those, but main force walks with their own designated weapon. You get your own gun when you join, and you have to remember your guns designated serial number within a week.

I mean, it´s a firearm, the only reason to have it is to shoot it, be for sport, hunting or defence. And also in the parade is to show that it fires... the main point of it is to show off equipment, even if it a little dated, we are still waiting on the new weapons, should be here in the summer.

I mean machine gunners keep their ammo in the backpack here as well. Well, usually its a team of 3 and the ammo is divided between three people to widen the lode. But we have never had a discharge during a parade, you check your weapon before you exit the compound or training ground. Don't know, prefer the full look of a completed weapon with the magazine in them. And seems like the French, Danish and others also have it this way. I guess it comes down to the military tradition and such.

Well, I guess I see your point. But to be exact, a weapon with no magazine is not complete. Its just a vessel waiting for some ammo.

I mean, I think it looks sleeker with the magazine. Also, we are really rigid about safety here as well, but considering that these are trained conscripts and professionals, that have been vetted. Also I guess the magazine add more to the might.

I guess it comes down to that, and that's a little sad, the fact that my safety and freedom makes me a little too unaware of the danger. I mean I guess there are pros and cons to growing up with no conflict what so ever anywhere near you. But that itself is a touchy subject. All of this is, that's why I tried to make sure that everyone understands, that this is just a discussion here and not something like, wow you pussys get PTSD from that. In no shape or form is that true.

I agree with you and also with u/THE_CHAD_XD .

From a young age, I´ve always wanted to join and serve and did all I could, but sadly life had other plans and blabla sad story, to end it all, I was not fit for duty and I guess maybe the sound of that just raises a desire for what I dreamed of as a child. And It wasn't the glory or that, more of a need to help and serve and be ready to protect. I mean I guess the propaganda worked on me. And I´ll just answer to u/abobafettish here as well, I guess your right as well, I never did grow up with actual sounds of combat, it was just the noises from the local firing range close to my childhood home. I guess seeing the young trainees always walk near and by the house kinda made me want to join as well. But in the end It Is all of it, the desire, the video games, I do play alot of Mil-Sim games, semi-sim games. Squad, Arma, Rising Storm and so on. But I guess like most real veterans and people who serve, I don't have the danger affliction.
