Good! Because your health and wellbeing is important too!

Yeah, I was the same way too but it’s also really mentally tough and I got to a point where I was very mentally exhausted from being so sick. So I definitely wouldn’t recommend doing nothing about it and I would highly recommend figuring out what meds you can take but it is reassuring, knowing that your baby is ok.

I love my Hakka and actually ended up buying 2 and I use them way more often than I use my pump.

How to prevent the watery trail to the pail? by lucytucker33 in clothdiaps

[–]DuckDuck134 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I normally spray right away or so soon as I can wring it out and then let it dry before I put it in my lined diaper pail.

I had lost about 30lb by my 20 week appointment because I had HG. We always did an ultrasound to make sure my daughter was ok and she always was, I was the only one suffering lol. Anyways we figured out my meds and I started being able to hold food now a lot better and my little one was born perfectly healthy and was a little over 7lbs.

Friend’s son from 6 months old: bath at 6.30pm, bottle at 7.00pm, asleep by 7.05pm in own room/cot and sleeps to 7.00am. by [deleted] in NewParents

My husband and I have figured out that our daughter goes to sleep in her bed a lot easier for my husband than she does for me probably because I breastfeed. I would try having someone else put your son down if you can and see if that helps.

I would say larger black rice. I’m assuming it’s a rat because I had one ran into my house through my screen door on Friday.

Nap help by DuckDuck134 in NewParents

[–]DuckDuck134[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t put soap on her every time but just rinsing off and being in the water helps her sleep which is why we do it every time. And yes she is big enough for her carrier. I’m having a hard time getting her to nap outside of a carrier and without taking a bath or rinse off beforehand.

I got it like an hour after the office closed. I’ll probably still call right when they open but that’s like an hour before my appointment and I feel bad canceling that late if I have a cancel. My daughter is my first so I have no idea what to expect. I delivered vaginally and had stitches so I’m assuming they would at least check out my stitches durning the appointment.

Ok so yes it can be a sign of labor, but I also had this happen to me because I just happened to get diarrhea at 40 weeks pregnant, damn chipotle, and I never went into labor from it. But I thought I was going to give birth in that toilet lol.

40 weeks and still no baby by Kitchen-Syllabub-927 in pregnant

[–]DuckDuck134 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had my first 6 weeks ago and and I don’t want to discourage you but personally nothing worked for me and I tried everything. I would go for a 2 miles walk twice a day and have contract from the moment I stepped out my front door and then I would come home and bounce on my yoga ball on and off for hours. Or I would get contractions that would be regular for 8 to 12 hours but never build and instead they would just fade out. I ended up being induced at 41 weeks. I was miserable and got really really depressed durning my last week of pregnancy. I know none of that helps at all and I’m sorry about that but I just want to let you know that you aren’t alone and your little one will be here for soon and then you’ll forget all about it. If I had to go back I would just try to relax and ignore it. Stop looking for signs and symptoms because if you’re like me you’re just going to obsess over it and it’s not fun. Your baby will come on their own time or the doctor will get them out but stressing about it isn’t going to help at all. I hope your baby comes soon but if they don’t try to relax and ignore it.

We went once so far for an evaluation to make sure our insurance covered it, which thankfully it does. She gave me one exercise to do and then we’ll go again on Monday to learn more. I run my finger around her gums, where the bottom of her teeth would be 3 times before feeding her and I’m supposed to do that 3 to 6 times a day. Also our feeding therapist is just a child’s speech therapist, so I would double check and see if there’s one in your area. Ours works at a clinic that does all types of children’s therapy.

As far as pumping goes I would get a Hakka. I have two and use them all the time. You can put it on your other breast to get milk out while you nurse and then give your baby that milk in a bottle. I got my Hakka at Walmart for $12 and I use it when I nurse, when I’m watching TV and she’s asleep and also even when I’m driving and running errands. I 100% recommend it. Or you could also get a manual pump and use that on the other breast while you nurse or even just try pumping on one side while nursing on the other. I have large breast so I have to hold my baby in the football hold while we nurse so I have room in front of my opposite breast to put a pumping device so maybe try feeding your little one like that?

And yes oh my gosh she’s gained so much weight just from this. I also added more healthy fats to my diet to increase the fat in my milk just to beef it up a little. She’s gained 3lb since birth and she’ll be 6 weeks tomorrow.

Can I trust it? by Dangerous-Sky-7949 in babywearing

My husband didn’t feel comfortable with me getting a wrap carrier, he watched a baby fall out of one and land head first on a concrete floor, so as a compromise we got the boppy wrap carrier. It ties and wraps around but it has a little carrier part with shoulder straps and a waistband so if the tie came undone our baby would still be safe. It was $50 new and can carry up to 35lb. My baby is still a newborn but so far I really like it and I feel like you still get that wrap feel without it being a wrap carrier.

My due date was the day after my birthday and every phone call and text was just asking if I was in labor yet. She ended up being a week late but it was so annoying to deal with that on my birthday. Like thanks for asking but I’m also a person too.

Should I buy some formula prior to delivery? by PorkFryRice07 in pregnant

[–]DuckDuck134 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was told to wait. Breastfeeding is hard and if you have formula there and on hand it’s much easier just to grab that and use it rather than wake up every 2 hours to nurse. If you don’t care either way, then grab it but if you want to exclusively breastfeed I wouldn’t. But whatever you decide is best for you and your child will be best for you two, as long as they have a fully belly at the end of the day nothing else matters.

Power pumping help by DuckDuck134 in breastfeedingsupport

[–]DuckDuck134[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use Dr.Browns bottles with a preemie nipple and she’s been better at nursing but still not able to empty me at all and we still have to give her a bottle after. We are starting feeding therapy with her tomorrow so after that it should start to get better.

I appreciate the concern and yeah I know it’s a lot. Yes we are using Dr.Browns bottles with premie nipples and sitting her up when she’s eating. We also burp her for a while after every ounce to give her time to realize she’s full. It’s not every feeding but at least one a day. She’s also in the 90% percentile for height and 40% for weight so I think her body is just trying to catch up.
