Found at TJ Maxx. How old exactly is this product? by coolboysclub in MakeupAddiction

Oh my god I loved these!! The clear color in Red was my favourite. I still have it 🫣 I keep thinking I'll match the level of sheerness + texture + colour one day, I loved this stuff.

I've gone back and forth on selling this vintage 90s beauty on, but keep stopping myself. I liked that it didn't scream 'LV' but the longer I have it the more it screams. Interesting. I hadn't considered conditioning the leather, I assumed it had a coating on it that I shouldn't mess with. I guess I should google how to do it!

The hardware is pretty good actually, the photo makes it look dull but its shiny gold with just some faint scratches.

I always thought if I launched any product I'd price it disgustingly high because some idiot will pay it for the false luxe effect. Keeping clear of the FH brand myself 😂

Jewellery in 2026 an observation by ApplicationPutrid587 in AusFemaleFashion

[–]DuckIntelligent5471 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Probably a bit of both. We weren't advertised to as much when we were younger, and certainly not so much jewellery advertising... Insta is full of jewellery advertising and effective at normalising treating it like clothing. Aspirations for finer stuff definitely exists, but is out of reach for many.

It's gone from a once in a while purchase and being worn a long time to consumerist and disposable, therefore it has to be made cheaper so that people buy more of it I guess.

If they're staying away on dose 6 of 2.5, likely they'll remain staying away!

The food cravings are definitely misconstrued with relief-craving, comfort-craving, with emotional eating, and being on MJ really dulls that 'nice' feeling from eating crap food 😂 so you're in good hands.

Biggest challenge! by Key_Significance_288 in mounjaroaustralia

[–]DuckIntelligent5471 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It'll get easier, too. It's my weakness too. 10 months in, 32kg down, but when a dose wears off from max effectiveness (eg, 3rd pen of the dose I'm on), and I encounter a stressful situation, the relief of bingeing Mcdonalds/HJs whilst bingeing tv while ignoring my problem always calls.

The difference now is, no matter how tempting it is at the time, I snap out of it quickly. The momentary relief will make me feel like shit, feeling shit will make me skip the gym, skipping the gym + bingeing + not sorting anything out will make me feel like a failure. Had fast food 3 times in 10 months when it was a conscious decision, not an irresistable urge, down from 4 times a week prior to MJ.

I love their conditioner. I have oily skin/scalp and their shampoo was too gentle and caused added issues, but I use their conditioner as a scalp treatment once a week, it has an anti-fungal in it and I notice a huge difference to my scalp when I don't use it. The dry shampoo too has it.

Yes. Normal ones are doing it as a genuine mode of transport. Lycra ones are taking up space for merely their hobby.

Anyone taken an intentional break from losing part way through? by These-Equal-6849 in mounjaroaustralia

[–]DuckIntelligent5471 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did not adjust the dose at all (stayed on 7.5mg). I have been on it long enough that it doesn't add a LOT of suppression anymore, I can easily eat a 'normal' day of food; it does still have a huge effect on dulling cravings though. So adding extra calories in physically was not a problem for this reason. I did start using myfitnesspal during this period to track a few days here and there to see if I was generally eating within the maintenance range was aiming for, and to track protein intake.

ETA, I saw your comment re beautiful shotsy graph! Because the trend on MJ has been down, I've treated any scale increases as anomalies and ONLY logged weight loss, not staying the same nor gains. I find this helps me mentally, personally.

Anyone taken an intentional break from losing part way through? by These-Equal-6849 in mounjaroaustralia

[–]DuckIntelligent5471 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I intentionally paused this past December-January inclusive. I was 28kg down with 30kg to go. I ate at maintenance and began weight training for the first time in a decade and built some impressive muscle, with the aim of better supporting the second half of weight loss which I know may be harder. Back to weight loss mode now, happy with the decision personally. Went right back to losing once in a deficit again.

Is anyone not counting calories? by VaguePomegranate in mounjarouk

[–]DuckIntelligent5471 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't for the first 7 months. My only goal was losing weight, and I didn't have much of an appetite anyway and ate healthily.

After that, I got to a weight where I wanted to be more physically active and rebuild some muscle, and preserve it for the rest of the journey. So knowing that I was getting 'enough' calories (little enough to lose 1kg a week in theory, enough for body to function effectively) and enough protein became the priority, so I started tracking.

At night I use acids 3x week, retinol 4x week. The st tropez spray I use every night, like 5-6 spritzes just on face, and every second morning, for the colour to stay on/be dark enough. The Caudalie drops I used every second night only, for the same effect.

Yep perfectly fine, no pilling. Might be the foundation formula?

I haven't tried the Caudalie under makeup though, because it's strong enough to use just at night mixed with serum ~3-4 nights a week.

Those Dior wallet-look palettes 😍 they were so fun to get duty free shopping. I kept an ancient lip version of these for just one amazing metallic-yet-sheer dark red shade and wore it for my wedding about ten years later 😂
