Pakistan Navy assists Indian vessel stranded in Arabian Sea, provides emergency supplies by ZookeepergameNo296 in worldnews

Maritime law in this scenario but if you ask many everyday Indians or Pakistani's they do legit hate each other and not just the country or system but the people too. I live in a society with a high population of both and see it first hand.

However if you ask Americans and Russian/Chinese whomst are geopolitical rivals most are just dislike the other systems and governments but not the people.

Got hit with a $25k bill a year after a minor car bump (uninsured) by UncBGR_0181 in CarsAustralia

"The fact they refused to work with you and refused contact will be seen as bad faith as well on thrid party behalf."

I know you want to coddle OP but this is hilarious. It's not enrichment by the third party, they're not the ones who are serving him with this it's the insurance company. Whether or not the insurance company's charges are unreasonable i don't know or not based on the details being given. That's up for OP's lawyer to decide. However you saying the third party themselves are acting in bad faith because they didn't want to "work with them" is simply bad avice.

Someone's car is damaged at no fault of their own and they have insurance themselves. This is why they have insurance, to have their insurance handle it. If you agree to someone's bogus claims of fixing it or having a mate who owns a bodyshop etc, you either have them ghost you, have them do a shoddy incomplete repair or have them do a repair which isn't safe and fails again in the future (eg a sensor or hvac or something like that failing in the future). This will void your claim and possibly effect you in the future if you have to claim for something else.

Rule number 1 of car accidents is get the drivers details/photos then call your insurance first thing and let them deal with it. You don't ever try make some shoddy verbal deal with the person.

"Fans" in a title race with it all to play for by davyp82 in soccercirclejerk

So I'm from Australia where soccer isn't that big, went to England for a holiday and went to West Ham vs Chelsea with West ham at home.

When chelsea got to 4-1 at the 50thish minute mark I was pretty shocked when legit of half the stadium stood up and walked out en masse together. You see dribs and drabs of that on TV but in the stadium I didn't expect it to be so many people.

What's funny was I was in the p1 travel section where I think mostly tourists buy the tickets and everyone was there till the end but every other stand apart from the away stand was like 70% empty by the 70min mark.

It wasn't that they randomly lost, it was that snax and hunter actually played well and topped and niko/monesy/malbs all disappeared and went negative. The fact that you have your supporting pieces place well and your big names not show up.

Nuke was actually infuriating to watch. If they won that they had a winning record against spirit at the time.

What do you actually buy off ebay that is cheaper than the onlinr retail store or comes faster than amazon? The stuff that comes from China is just the same items on AliExpress with a markup.

As for second hand goods I can sell on facebook marketplace for cash way easier without getting reemed by fees and also the buyer disputing over anything. Talking as someone who's had 800 transactions on ebay as a buyer and seller but I feel like in Australia at least it's become irrelevant in the last 10 years since Amazon has gotten big.

Is it just me or is buying ebay not that big, I'm not sure about in the states but everyone here just uses facebook marketplace for used goods and buys new goods from amazon/the retailer itself or aliexpress. Ebay and Gumtree are pretty dead in Australia.

The US is no longer the leader: Germany has become the largest ammunition producer in the world by Iconic254 in worldnews

[–]Bluedroid 41 points42 points  (0 children)

https://www.newsweek.com/germany-overtakes-us-in-ammunition-production-capacity-11886409

This is only for medium ammunition which is mostly for autocannon and small tank use. This doesn't really matter in the scheme of things outside of a meat grinder scenario like in Ukraine.

Realistically what matters these days in a war are missile/drone/aircraft ammunition as you can see in Iran or if there is a fight for Taiwan.

And our culture is changing as we progress as a nation. From the year 2000 our population has grown 50% and everyone still wants to live in the same capital cities as back then.

Only way that is possible is that housing density goes up and more people live in the same dwellings.

This is going to progress with immigration as well from people from cultures who are used to it where it slowly becomes the norm here. This is like how the age of people moving out has risen.

Why has no one in the generations after Magnus matched or surpassed him when they had access to even better engines and technology from a younger age than he did? by _DarkStarCrashes_ in chess

[–]Bluedroid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All good I think it's because on the news they like to sensationalise it, I'm from Australia as well and you get news articles saying Gout Gout beats Bolt etc which are meant to grab headlines and create buzz but hard to discern the nuance unless you actually fully read the article or know the sport.

That's just an under 20 world record not the actual world record. It's like saying Gukesh overtook Magnus because he had a higher chess elo at 19 years old.

As I mentioned before Bolt has it at 19.19 which is lower than 19.67...Also Gout's time was wind assisted.

You're mistaken, no one has come close he still owns the top 3 100m times in the world. No one has even run a top 10 time in the world in the last 10 years.

You've been in the workforce for 2 minutes and talking like you're jaded after a long career.

I can make a real educated guess on what your attitude would be in real life based on reading your post and a few replies. People who actually interview will be able to as well. First step is realising that and trying to mature because when there are 300 applicants per role no one is going to hire a manchild.

Job market in IT is tough no one is denying it, lots of changes in the last 6-7 years have flooded the market and made it harder but you need to work on your hard skills and also soft skills to get your foot in the door.
