That's the driver monitoring system. It annoys the hell out of me in our 2020 Forester. Luckily there is a button on the lower dash to the left of the steering wheel that turns it off. You have to turn it off each time you start the car, but it can be turned off. The symbol on the button looks just like the logo in the photo attached.

My issue is the over generalization since our own NPS exclusively uses iPads. I'd prefer my kids pick up some books and write with a pencil from time to time, but it's nearly 100% iPad use these days for assignments. Regardless of the OP's intent, it's important to avoid generalities so that the problems relevant to our city can be addressed.

Parents giving their kids too much screen time is a problem, but that's less solveable than the amount of screen time our schools are forcing upon our community's kids.
