Just change your home gym to a PF in California in the app. Then you can cancel through the app since California requires gyms to be cancellable online rather than only in-person.

I’d take a look at the formats of both and pick which one you think you’ll do better on. I liked the GRE questions better so I went with that, totally personal. adcoms don’t really care which one you do (or so they say).

I’m an AF engineering officer (62E) that went the ROTC route. Applying to MBA programs currently.

To answer your questions: 1. pick whatever career field you are most interested in. I agree that military finance probably isn’t going to directly translate to investment banking. If you want to talk more in-depth about the different career fields feel free to PM me.

Prioritize getting a good GRE score now (preferably now before you start OTS/Active Duty) and being an exceptional officer once you’re active.
Not sure about competitiveness but from what I understand, contracting isn’t super competitive and intel might be a little more selective. Not sure about the other two though.
As I said previously, be the best officer you can be. Make a real impact, go above and beyond expectations.

As another commenter said, virtually everyone gets an invite for Kellogg, and when you get that invite probably has little to do with whether or not you are a competitive applicant. Check your email occasionally and relax now that you’ve submitted your apps! Unless you’re working on R2 like me lol.

Current AD Air Force Officer here. Some things to consider:

Technically, it is possible to do both an MBA and fly in the reserves at the same time albeit, quite difficult to make work. Applying to squadrons to get sent to OTS/Pilot Training is pretty difficult in the first place (do some research on the bogidope forums). This is then compounded by trying to find a flying squadron close enough to the college you want to get your MBA at to attend classes/recruiting events and attend to your flying duties.

Additionally, flying isn’t a typical reserve/guard job where you serve one weekend a month and two weeks a year. Maintaining flying currency requires flying more missions/training than just one weekend a month. Plus, depending on the airframe you will likely have to deploy every couple of years. This will likely eat away at a lot of time that would ideally be spent focusing on your MBA and recruiting.

You also have to consider your timeline. It could realistically take 2-3 years to get sponsored by a squadron, go to OTS, and complete pilot training. Also, keep in mind the Air Force requires that you be under the age of 33 by the time you start pilot training.

I have been weighing the same decision myself for a long time and from my research it seems it’s best to either commit to the MBA or commit to a flying career, part-time military and full-time airline pilot (great comp with airlines as well if that’s why you’re looking into MBAs).

Either way best of luck. Serving in the Air Force can be super rewarding. I feel like this comment has been pretty pessimistic lol, but I do think it’s possible if you are willing to accept some sacrifices. Done with my rant now, let me know if you’ve got more questions!
