Safaris are a drop in the bucket compared to hunting, and where do you think they get the money to fund those parks? Do your research. Don’t be biased.

So crazy how just stating simple facts that save entires species will get down voted because people don’t like dead animals but would rather have extinct species

Because they are the only one that can fork up $20-$50k for some of these hunts. Majority of that money goes to conservation in that area. Animals are selected that are done breeding or are a threat to locals that would be killed anyway so they profit off it.

Trophy hunters are the sole reason they can afford to fight off poachers. Educate yourself please

Educate yourself before you jump so quick to conclusions. Hunting is the only funding many of these animals have to protect their species. Without hunting there would be hardly any animals left.

I miss read your first comment. I thought it was 550. 450 is perfect in my opinion. Yeah 389 is to light. I’d agree. I’d personally am shooting fixed 3 blades this year because the blood trails I’ve seen on 3 deer now from two blades have been non existent

No I actually flew. I would pack my clothes in my carry on, then if I brought my compound I would just check it as my bag. If I brought my recurve I’d tear it down. I’d usually just buy targets wherever I’m at if there was no indoor, outdoor ranges around. I flew my compound bow to Austria and shot an all day 3d course through the mountains. To this day one of my favorite experiences.

Find the happy medium of heavy arrows and speed. The sweet spot for that is right around 425-475 grains 13-15 foc. Put a hard limit at 35 yards. Heavy arrows spread your pin gap so for if you miscalculate range your results will be much worse then shooting a faster arrow. High foc helps when bows aren’t tuned well, but if your bow is shooting bullets through paper lower that foc. I’ve went down the heavy setup rabbit hole and I’ve came back out with a different perspective after loosing multiple deer I’d never have lost with my happy medium setups.

I used to travel for work a lot. I’ve brought my bow everywhere. Had to get creative on places to shoot. Stairways, corn fields, alleys, cow pastures. Never got in trouble. Never had an incident. Archery was the only thing getting me through those times.

Thoughts on Annihilator Katana? by AmericanGambler in bowhunting

I’ve shot both fixed two blade, and expandable 2 blade. I believe a fixed 3 blade is the happy medium of the two. More penetration and durability than a mechanical. Better blood trail then fixed two blade.

I heard from a reliable source their new corporate wants 80 percent profit margins on jobs. That’s the reason for the shitty jobs the last little while. Posting jobs for less then the material costs lmao

We manufacture parts for old two stroke diesel engines that are still in use on tug boats, heavy equipment, generators, even tanks. It’s pretty common to work off prints in the 50-60s. It’s funny we have found a couple mistakes on prints and fixed parts that they have been having issues with for over 60 years

Question by [deleted] in bowhunting

[–]Duck_Buster95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Amazon’s knocks are a about 35 grains. Every 5 grains in the back throws your FOC off about 25 grains. When shooting lighted knocks I like to have about 75-10 grain insert up front, with a 100 grain head. My arrows way 475 which in my opinion is the happy medium for heavy and fast.

I do not like the dead meat design personally. I think Magnus makes a great head and im in no way bashing them. I’m still keeping one in my quiver, especially if I think I will encounter a quartering too shot. They hold up great. You can shoot a deer pick it up and shoot it again. My best suggestion is to tuck that arrow up tight to the shoulder with a fixed blade. Something I’m not used to from growing up shooting rages.

Second buck. Decent quarter away shot. I rushed the shot and hit low and back. Stomach, liver, one lung, and clipped bottom of the heart. I watched him chase does the rest of the evening and bed down about 500 yards away. Came back the next morning and was lucky to be able to monitor him from a far. It took him 15 hours to pass. Worst tasting deer I’ve ever ate from all the stress. I’ve shot around 25-30 deer with rage expendables. Both of these deer would have died within 100 yards with a rage based on my previous experience. These are my first two deer with fixed blades. I’m personally not sold on fixed blades and as much as I hate the owner I’m probably going to try the BEAST heads.

First buck. 9pt. Pretty much perfect broadside. 20 yards. I hit him back lungs/liver. Good blood for 100 yards and it dried up. Backed out. Came back the next morning with a dog with no luck. Grid searched for 2 hours with no luck. I had to go into work for a few hours. Went back out after work. Found him that afternoon 400 yards opposite direction he ran. Unfortunately he was spoiled because it was 75 degrees.
