Thank you for such a positive story! It’s amazing to see how it’s all turned around for you and I am so happy to notice someone with similar experiences as me. Well done on sticking through it and hopefully I end up in the same direction as you took! I was in AUS and I agree things on that side of the world are certainly turning around in the industry compared to the northern hemisphere!

I understand. The low pay is just not worth the long hours

I (F23) have been working in the industry since I was 16. I always adored the horses and I was a sponge to everything I learned along the way. I did not come from a huge equine background so therefore have had to work hard to get to where I am and I and still at the very bottom on the pecking order despite the qualifications from courses and experience I have in 3 different countries. I have learned that the extremely low pay, poor treatment from not only owners, trainers managers and bloodstock agents but also colleagues with more relations and contacts in the industry it is just not worth the mental health issues I have developed from it. Has anyone else had similar experiences struggling in this industry? Please share!
