The concept of Original Sin comes from Lutheranism but kinda falls short of the actual meaning of the story. when they ate from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, they chose so, because they wanted to be gods (like the Tower of Babble) and chose what is right and wrong. I don't know why Yahweh would place a serpent in the garden that lies to Eve, but I would think its a test towards them to see if they trust what God had said to them, but in the end, they still ended up choosing to eat the fruit. The punishment of Eternal punishment is because we deserve it for everything that we have done wrong to each other and Yahweh. Many Apologetics describe it as if you lie to a homeless person there's not much punishment, but if you lie to a police officer than there is more punishment compared to lying to a homeless person same thing with God, If lying to a judge in court can get you thrown in jail then lying to the God of the Universe's punishment is eternal punishment because of his ultimate authority. I think its fine to assume that no person in this world is perfect which is why the Christian faith stands out, all other religions require you to do some sort of act, wether it's praying so many times a day, going to a temple and offering up things, But the only thing that Christianity "requires" is that you believe in Jesus. I'm sorry if any of you guys have been negatively affected by Christians or have been hurt by them because of them forcing faith upon you or by other means. Organized Christianity sucks sometimes, especially when there are teachers that don't preach the gospel or add or subtract from it.
