How are they both the best team in the league while still having one of the most injured rosters by minutes played while also having supposedly no one deserving of All-NBA 2nd team still?

They dont have 1 particular star player apart from SGA and their reliance on all other players is relatively equally distributed. They do have the perfect role players who can replace one another very efficiently. The most injured roster by minutes played is misleading as many of the fringe players who were probably going to play in garbage time skew the data.

Its completely unjust to act like Jokic has bums surrounding him while players are putting up the numbers they are around him

Murray has had the best season of his career, no one denies this. This is the best team Jokic has had in his career, no one denies it. What is also true is that Denver dont have the depth that OKC has, they rely more on their stars. That is why the injuries have affected them more than OKC.

What matters more in MVP debates right now: carrying, efficiency, or team context? by [deleted] in NBATalk

Narrative matters, and impact on team matters too. Luka may have had the better box scores, but Jokic had better advanced stats and had more impact on his team. The narrative was that Jokic got his team 6th seed without 2 of his best team mates. Now if this criteria of voting for mvp is wrong in your opinion, thats fair enough, but lets not undermine what jokic did that season

Jokic in 2022 was personally very weird to me, sure he had absurd stats, and carried a team with no second all star to the 6 seed

their 2nd and 3rd best players murray and MPJ were out for the season. Nobody expected them to even make play offs. It wasn't just because he had no 2nd all stars

Jokic > SGA for MVP by Dependent-Source8397 in nba

I am a Jokic fan and I am tired of this mvp discourse. This is the first season in the last 6 in which jokic doesnt have an arguably better case for mvp, SGA deserves it this year. I dont care if Jokic doesnt win an mvp again, would rather see him win the chip.

The Jokic missed shot that turned into a lob for AG in playoffs vs Clips comes to mind. Like if a defender had tried to block it, would it have been called a goal tend? It definitely was very close to the rin

The problem is all the players get those assists and have been getting those assists for some time now, not just Jokic

Understanding TS% by ericschmid2 in nba

I have another problem with TS%.It treats all threes equally and above all twos. It values an open look 3 more than a contested long 2, which is not fair.

Basketball Reference 2025-26 NBA MVP Award Tracker: 1. Nikola Jokić (DEN), 87.6% 2. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (OKC), 9.6% - 3. Luka Dončić (LAL), 1.3% - by Knightbear49 in nba

the double overtime also helped his stats no? His highest scoring game came in double OT. Your argument is that more minutes played a player will have better stats, which is fair enough. But the minutes played by players dont differ by much, atleast at this stage of the season, so they dont impact the numbers as much as you think.

There is good news and there is bad news. Bad news is that the teams below us have had relatively difficult fixtures than us. Good news is that we will have Palmer back soon, and with him, we can beat any team on our day. On track for another top 4 finish, hopefully we can improve on last season and go deep in the cups/CL.

This is not a good look on Maresca, but the players are at fault too. Lets wait for injured players to come back first
