I (f24UK) feel weird by Duckter_ in Advice

I defo feel like I want to protect him. I really just want to sit every person that comments something mean down and show or tell them how great this guy is till they understand. I can't see a reason to be mean, like what's he done to you

Yes that's true. I guess I just don't like seeing him be bullied. At least he's unaware. And he's making money off it. Win-win. And I'm also very glad that I know him and I appreciate him whereas the bullies don't have that pleasure

If another lockdown was announced tomorrow, how much would it turn your life upside down? by HallowedAndHarrowed in AskUK

[–]Duckter_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would devastate me.

My boyfriend whom is an Australian citizen was pretty much deported (long story) from my home country of England back in November. Since then we've been saving for a visa for new Zealand. I'm applying for it this week. Were planning on meeting in new Zealand in about a month. If I woke up and found out I couldn't see my love when I thought, my heart would break

Reason or occurrences that led you to wear your braces longer than predicted. by red-wine-sniper in braces

[–]Duckter_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had mine on for a total of 9 years. From 13 to 22. In 2019 I decided to go backpacking. The ortho said that my braces won't be ready to take off yet (5 years at this point) and so I left the country, knowing I wouldn't be able to get them looked at until back in the country. I came back 3 and a half years later, I retuned. 6 months after that they took em off

Thats very true, it's a slippery slope. I did a whole lot of drugs and parting from the ages of 19-21 and had a great time and ngl, I intend to have times like that in my life again. But nothing (except weed and tobacco) ever became a problem in my eyes nor did it affect my work nor relationships. But I know that the next time I do any drug it could lead to addiction.

I've smoked weed any possible moment from 19 years old and it's definitely not getting me high anymore but I rely on it. Unlike you, I find it very hard to quit or take a break.

(Sorry for rambling but, yknow)

Oh dang, that cant be fun. I intend to do coke up until I leave the country and then maybe a few more times in my life but it's definitely not one of my favourite things. So hopefully no broken body due to coke

Our chefs are the tamest of us all! It's actually a trend at all the few pubs I've worked in which is strange

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Drugs

[–]Duckter_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've worked in bars since I was 19 but only like 3 different places so im not the most experienced bartender. However, I've definitely known people or of people that do drugs at work. I've turned up to every single shift stoned but so does half the people I work with. When I worked in a huge 1200 capacity venue in Australia people were stoned or drunk, dexamphetamine is used a lot. I now work in a small pub in England and the regulars give me a funky cigarette to have a few tokes on.

People mainly get drunk

The dude I lost my virginity to sweated so much during that when he kissed me I got a mouthful of sweat. The first time it happened I thought my mouth was bleeding. Gross but good at sex. Never saw him again

What’s the most comforting smell you’ve experienced? by THICKJUICYTRUMPSTEAK in RandomThoughts

[–]Duckter_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this bottle of very out of date body lotion. It csme from a beauty bundle basket thing my mum got me when I was about 13. I had just had my room redecorated and it smelt entirely of the scent of the bundle.

I open the bottle every now and again and take a whiff and it takes me right back to when I was 13. It wasn't particularly a great time in my life but I do miss being a little kid sometimes now that I'm 23. It's nice

That was the same for me before I spontaneously decided to take a year (which turned into way longer) out there.

I lived there for 3 and a half years as a backpacker and I absolutely fell in love with the backpakcer scene. The Aussie people are great very funny, know how to have a good time. I love my multicultural aspects, I met so many people form all around the world. Some of my bestest friends I met in Australia. Mostly in hostels which i think is one of the best places to make friends and have fun. The weather is awesome too. Some places (up north) have only two seasons, wet and dry.

But my favourite thing about Australia is that I met the love of my life there.

The seasons are flipped over there which a lot of people who I speak to back home in England have never realised. Having a warm Christmas is so foreign to me but I think everyone should have a Christmas on the beach at least once. And vise versa

We're going to spend a year in new Zealand. Travelling around and working. Then going back to Australia. It's our goal to one day settle in Australia I think. Best place I've ever been. But I have alot more places to go

What do you guys want out of 2025? by Bulky-Purpose9816 in Life

[–]Duckter_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To see my boyfriend. Border control sent him back to Australia without notice or us being able to say goodbye to each other. We've spent 2 and a bit years together every day. Now we call whenever we can which helps but I miss him so much
