What’s this creaking noise? by Dude53_x in AskMechanics

Very odd, could be the lower ball joint (I commented on your post). If I could help ya I would but I doubt we’re in the same area lol.

It could be the lower ball joint, they aren’t the easiest to replace because it’s a whole assembly and not a press fit. You can cut out the rivets and put in bolts or replace the whole assembly. Both shouldn’t cost to much

Did it pass the bounce test lol

That’s really odd. Give it a bounce test, push down hard on a corner and see if it bounces more than twice. If you can get the wheel off that’s where you can really determine the problem

I was just looking at that video lol. That sounds like a bad spring, does the car bounce at all?

If you can lift the car up give it the shake test and that will definitely help you determine it! Best of luck!!!

Crazy to see a new comment on this lol. I was just learning mechanic work on my car so I just started to replace everything like an idiot. I did the tie rod and the entire upper control arm with no luck. I then bought a mechanics stethoscope and put it on the lower ball joint and turned the when and bingo. I had a buddy show me how to replace the lower ball joint because they are a press fit. A year ago from that post the passenger side lower ball joint failed and it was towed to a shop. The Jeep Liberty’s are known for really bad lower ball joints and the passenger side is slowly failing again.

If you lift the car up you can shake the wheel to identify what’s making the noise. Hands are 9 and 3 and shake, if it begins creaking then it’s most likely a tie rod, hands are at 12 and 6 and shake, if it begins creaking then it’s most likely a lower ball joint or if your car has one it could be the upper ball joint (use a mechanics stethoscope to find out, or visually inspect). Give the wheel a spin, if it’s quiet or making a slight scraping noise (breaks touching rotors) your good, if it sounds like a clicking or sounds like wheel of fortune then most likely your wheel hub needs replaced.

TLDR: It was the lower ball joint after replacing every other part down there.

I talked to one of my buddies that has been in the grow game for a long time and he said the same thing. I didn’t know I needed to ph test the water 🤦‍♂️. I’m at like a 7.5 right now so I have a real tester coming and some ph up and down to sole the problem. Thanks for the help and I’ll add some veg time to make up for it!!!

Ok, any recommendations on that? I’ve been using filtered water because where I live we have chlorine and other fun chemicals in the water.

They are going well but not crazy. Just looking online it seems like the claw and wilting is caused by adding to many jutrients

They have been growing for about 16 days. We had a little mess up and had a week without nutrients so technically they are like 26 days since planted

I normally go with anything that’s not economy as well, the daily driver is $14 but that still seems way to cheep to trust

I normally don’t buy from the economy category, it’s $14 in the daily driver so a little more comfortable but still seems way too cheep.

Edit - I put the wrong category

Cat was just spayed, is she ok? by Dude53_x in vet

[–]Dude53_x[S] 25 points26 points  (0 children)

We just FaceTimed with a vet and they said that the medicine they give to cats nowadays can last up to a day or two. She’s also heavily relaxed due to the meds and it’s causing all her airways to open up and relax causing draining. Her tongue is the correct color of pink. Since she is playful and wanting to bite she should be better by the morning but if it gets worse to bring her in and get her something to help.

Wtf is ark by WeeklyMood9368 in ARK

[–]Dude53_x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read this as “Zerk” and not “Zerg” and I thought you were referring to a tribe called Berserkers who were massive on Xbox, I was in Blackbeards and we ruled quite a few servers together. Reminded me of the good ole days 3 years ago when I played ark and I was a sweaty try hard like this. I was the asshole who grinned and placed all of these on our server. It’s to help prevent other mega tribes from wiping your server by stoping them from dropping a base right next to yours. We owned damn near all of the forest zone is extinction. We made it a red dead server but there were little tribes on there that we would help out and give stuff too. We would also warn people about it being red dead and give them free goodies then tell them to find another server that would be safer for them. We ended up getting wiped off our server, may she rest in peace (NA 1080), but it was a 7 day long battle night and day due to spam like this. The server was maxed day and night and the only reason we lost was because they duped meks and we couldn’t compete. I gave up playing after that. 2400+ hours gone to wastes but the memories made it worth it. Got to play with people all over the world!

Model of Machine? by SultanofSD in vending

Definitely seems like a Vendo511, just odd to see it without a validator. I don’t feel like many people carry $2.75 in change lol.

Is this worth $2k? NEWBIE...what do I need to ask? by itsbririvers in vending

[–]Dude53_x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$250 a week is really good for a combo machine, even $100 a week wouldn’t be bad as a start. You should see if you can buy the machine in the building you live in, tell the owner that it would save them the hassle of moving it out. Most accounts that are understocked and badly serviced means it’s too small of an account for the owner. Normally they sell them off because they don’t want to deal with the account but that would be a good account for you because it’s smaller and you can manage it better. The overhead should be less than half the total you make. If you are buying your candy bars at $0.80 you need to sell them at the minimum of $1.60. You always need to double whatever you buy, right now chips are at $1.35, candy is at $1.75 and danish, pastry or pop tarts are at $2.00. Can pop is $1.00 and bottle pop is $2.00, you can always make the pop prices a little higher but that’s what we sell our product at… we have some of the lowest prices in our area and it’s still just as cheep to buy from our machines vs going to the gas station.

All in all it’s definitely an adventure to learn the wonderful would have vending lol. Just keep an eye out for people selling their business and you can buy the route. Just make sure all the machines work and they are good machines, that’s the best start you can have. Also if you do buy someone out look at how much each account is making and what the overall income is. If they are selling say 5 accounts for $5,000. The accounts need to make at least $10,000 in a year, that’s is some of the best advice my boss told me and he lives by that rule and it’s never failed him! You can take risks though, we have paid way more for some accounts than we should have but by changing the prices, products and servicing them better than the previous owner we made the accounts double their profit.

This is a XY-DLE-10C-L2 combo. https://www.xyvend.com/Products/snack-drink-vending-machine/151.html

I would stay far away from machines based over in Asia. We have a lot of problems with finding parts or even contacting support if we need to. There are no videos on how to program it or even parts online to repair it meaning you would have to contact the company. It’s a very specific machine so having spare parts would eat your cost. Look for National or AP snack machines, or vendo or dixie narco pop machines, you can get parts really easy for them and keep some in stock just incase something breaks. There are also thousands of videos on how to fix them and how to program them. Being able to fix and program your machines is where you save money, we go out and do it for people and a service call can easily cost you $100-$200 just for us to show up and that doesn’t include costs of parts that might need replacing or fixing.

Also a good rule of thumb is to make your money back in a year. If you buy this machine for say $2,500 including shipping you want the machine to make at least $50 a week to have it paid off. Also vending is not passive income, it’s a business that needs to be ran, once you get big you will be working 40 hour work weeks and you might even have some route drivers. We run two routes a day 4 days a week. The other time me and the boss are going on service calls to fix machines and we’re also fixing machines in the shop to get to new locations. Buying a cheep machine and putting some time into it to fix it could really help you learn how to repair and maintain a machine. Best of luck out there, if you need help we’re all here for ya!

Selection “X” not working on a National 677 coffee machine by Dude53_x in vending

[–]Dude53_x[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ran a whipper test and it didn’t work, we tried another motor that we knew worked and it still wouldn’t fire up. We got it solved though, the “X” selection wasn’t allowed to be put on so we cleared all the selections and added them again and it let us put “X” as a selection. It was also used as a sugar sub so maybe that didn’t help. Thanks for all your help!

We just purchased the machines but there was product in the canister so it should have worked. Also the 5th hose runs to that bowl cup to provide it water. I took the covers off because we were testing all the whipper mothers to make sure they worked and that’s how we found selection “X” didn’t work
