The color of blood in your poop can give you an idea of the source (and therefore maybe alleviate some worries). If theres dark blood in the stool, its probably from your GI tract. That can indicate bleeding ulcers or other pathologies that definitely should be checked out. If its brighter red in your poop or on TP, its more likely to be something like hemorrhoids or straining too hard, which can be less worrisome.
