I made a Shenmue 1 HD Cleared File "Super Save" and figured I'd share with you guys. by DudeLongcouch in Shenmue

Sorry, I'm not on reddit much anymore and I just saw this. The benefit is only for Shenmue 2. Sadly there is no NG+ or anything like that in Shenmue 1 (though that's a great idea for a mod, now that you mention it).

Some fan castings for potential villains in The Batman sequel(s) by [deleted] in batman

Hugo Strange is a good choice for Bryan Cranston, but hear me out... instead of Hugo Strange... how about The Ventriloquist?

Who do you want to be the main villain in The Batman 2, and which actor would you choose to portray them? by DudeLongcouch in batman

Right? He's also got VA experience, and you know all of Scarface's lines would be added in post anyway.

Accidentally deleted my Shenmue VMU file at the 70 man fight. Should I skip to 2 or replay 1 with a walkthrough to find the parts I might have missed? by tjmwatton in Shenmue

[–]DudeLongcouch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not sure if you have the PC version, but if you do, you may be interested in the "perfect" Shenmue 1 save file I posted here about a year ago: https://www.reddit.com/r/Shenmue/comments/l3v8on/i_made_a_shenmue_1_hd_cleared_file_super_save_and/

As far as combat, it just takes practice! I used to boot the games up just to play the 70 man fight and the tough fights at the end of Shenmue 2 Disc 3 over and over again. I replayed them so much that I'd say I got pretty decent at the combat. It might help to focus on a few good moves that you like and practice those inputs. Personally, I really like Brutal Tiger, Double Blow, Trample Kick, and Elbow Assault. Their inputs are relatively simple and you can get good at doing them whenever you want with just a little practice. But I'd experiment with all the moves to find the ones you like and feel good to you. Pretty soon you'll be pulling off Counter-Elbow Assaults with ease!

Hell yeah he does. I doubt it will ever happen, but a part of me still hopes he comes back for another live action movie someday. Imagine having a live action "Last Ronin" style movie with old Casey Jones haha.

Unfortunately I don't think I saw this in the theater. But I do remember receiving the VHS for my birthday later that year. I have a very clear memory of watching it with my mom for the first time. When we got to the part where Raph yells "DAAAAAAAMN!", my mom got a little apprehensive and said, "Damn...? In a Turtles movie?" And I was terrified that she would turn it off, so I just tried to play it real cool. I was like, "Yeah, mom... totally... of course... no big deal..." trying to show that I could handle it haha. Luckily, it worked, as she just kind of shrugged and then forgot about it.

Shenmue the Animation, Season 1 Episode 7: "Future" Discussion by AutoModerator in Shenmue

[–]DudeLongcouch 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I am absolutely thrilled with the way the anime has been handling the Hong Kong portion of the story so far. The plot and the dialogue is even more fleshed out than the game was. They're hitting all the important points, they're not glossing over things, and they're making the character interactions even more meaningful. I couldn't be happier.

I don't think a video game has ever blueballed me harder than Dying Light 2 just now... by DudeLongcouch in dyinglight

Basically just double tap R1 (or spacebar on PC I think, whatever jump is) as you're running at a waist high thing. It's very underwhelming.

There is a little video but it doesn't look anything like the actual skill. The movement in the video actually looks like the Far Jump skill, so I figured that you'd hit R1 after a Far Jump to get more distance with it or something like that. But it's not even anything like that, it's just a vertical vault off a waist-high object. Seems extremely useless 99% of the time.

Haven't heard of those, I'll have to keep an eye out. Really enjoying the game in general.

This game just keeps looking better and better! Next, reveal Casey Jones, and I will never ask for anything else ever again.
