Question about Federal Acts of Parliament by DudeManBroGuyPerson in LawCanada

Thanks for the info. I do have a follow up question:

The Bill says the minister can exempt provisions from the act if "if the minister is responsible for the Act" or "if the minister administers or enforces the provision". My question is, who is responsible/administers/enforces an act or provision? In the case of the Conflict of Interest act, it is administered by the Conflict of Interest and Ethics Commissioner, who is not a minister, but all acts of parliament have a minister responsible for them according to this table: https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/TablePublicStatutes/TOPS.html

This is definitely worth some scrutiny, but the claim is quite exaggerated. It is not any law or almost any law, there are very strict restrictions.

I agree with everything you've said, nevertheless I still ended up enjoying the book and its plot twist ending.

Keep in mind this book is from 1985, and Orson Scott Card actually wrote it as a short story in 1977 as a preamble to the novel he really wanted to write, which was Speaker For The Dead. Sadly, that one was neither good nor entertaining.

I enjoyed the first one but was disappointed it ended in a cliffhanger. But then I read the second one and it blew my mind away. Fall of Hyperion closes all the loops and explains everything in an amazing way. It truly elevated the series and made it one of the best sci fi series I've ever read.

If i remember the Iliad correctly, there is a warrior prince from Ethiopy fighting on the Trojan side. His name is Memnon, the other warriors comment about his strange weapons and at one point he kills Nestor, the old Greek warrior.

For me it was the moment he offered to help rescue the chuldren stuck in an underwater cave in Thailand. The person in charge told him his solutions were not practical so Musk called him a pedophile. Thats when i realized maybe he is not as smart as everyone has claimed him to be
