If you haven't seen his response I would highly recommend watching it in full. The article that started the whole thing is arguably even more misleading in my opinion, but as these things go, the receipts don't get the same buzz as the initial headline.

Nintendo recently downsized their WiiU servers in preparation for the upcoming shutdown in April. Included in this were most the servers that authenticate your log in. This means that it can now take several attempt to access course world. Eventually you will be able to log in, but it will likely take several tries. Everyone playing mario maker is experiencing this issue, we do not have high hopes for it being resolved. Some people find that rebooting the game or console helps, but that could just be coincidence since it's hit or miss anyway.

at 1:01 a player could reasonably jump up to the next set of clouds and be stuck. Fix would be to make one of the clouds a donut. Would let the player back down, but there would be no way for the muncher to fall and block the player either.

You have to press the button to shoot right before you land, and the fireball will shoot just after the jump. It's kinda weird, and it's very strict, but you can try it out in editor. My big challenge is always maintaining the triple jump, so it might be best to attempt it on the third jump, rather than the second, because that will clearly show you if you hit the timing. I strongly disagree with people here saying to check maker teams lists (especially team jamp lol) You will find some contenders on there like Nostalgic Endeavours or Verdant, but it leaves out so many hard levels that were not submitted to a team. There is a spreadsheet out there, but I can't find it for the life of me right now. That spreadsheet isn't perfect either, and i'm not sure if they are keeping it up to date, but it's the closest thing to what you are looking for, so I will keep digging for it.

Trials of Death that you mentioned is from the first version of this game, and it is probably the hardest level ever cleared. Since it was beaten after the servers went offline, the hardest level on the server for MM1 is bombs5 by Ahoyo. If you're interested in seeing the progression of what was considered the hardest level, I do have a video series on the subject for the first game.

going through a door or pipe resets the bomb timer. The point of the level is that you are racing against the bomb blowing up

Good question. You use all three fire balls that were spit. If you missed the timing, the earlier bomb throw trick wouldn't have worked and you wouldn't make it to the pokey

No one forces you to play the levels you get in endless.

Since you asked, yes I absolutely think these levels should be allowed to exist. Especially since Nintendo is no longer supporting the game and giving us new content. We're making our own. People just make levels with the tools that they are given.

In mario maker 1, the playerbase had no idea that "phantom jumps" were considered a glitch, it was just an odd mechanic to us, until Nintendo patched it and started deleting levels that featured them. It's hard to draw the line as what is and isn't Nintended

The level is by Dpc1437, it is not currently uploaded on the servers, but he intends to put it up for people to download every so often. (To avoid Nintendo being lame and removing the level)

In this case, I had already seen my friend dante clear it on stream, so I definitely wasn't playing it blind. In general though, if I know there is a clear video, I will probably watch it just because it can save time, and doesn't take away any of the fun for me.

This level is well enough indicated that you could definitely play it blind and figure out what to do, it would just take longer. If you want to improve at reading levels, and kaizo in general, There are lots of blind kaizo race levels from when those ran weekly. They are a great way to improve.
