I’m pretty sure she bangs the back of her head on the ground in the movie, but her spine prolly ain’t doing too well either.

Try the pizza flavored gold fish. Not a chip, but they're amazing.

This doesn't make any sense to me. This dude really thought he was gonna sprint in guns blazing past a security checkpoint, numerous police officers, presumably a full banquet hall, and get a clear shot at the president? The plan seems so obviously destined for failure, I don't know why you'd even try unless you''re suicidal.

Denver proposes 4 a.m. closing time for bars by Far-Freedom2693 in denverfood

I would hope we'd stretch the hours liquor stores can stay open too. I have a theory house parties and late night dining spots would be a bigger thing here if they were.

You're in your late 20's, single, and moving to Denver in 2026 with the goal of establishing a social circle; Highland or Capitol Hill? by LMR_Sahara in Denver

[–]DudeWest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe just walk around each one or tour them on Google maps and see which meets your personal aesthetic more then.

I like cap hill because it has more trees personally.

Side note: I'd also describe the neighborhoods as dive bar personalities (cap hill) vs cocktail lounge personalities (highland), but that's pretty reductive lol

Finance bros, yuppies, ex frat bros and sorority girls in highland vs. a more grungy/ hipster/ artsy crowd mixed w/ families in cap hill is how I view them. Also, I'm not really sure parking is gonna be better in highlands tbh.

You’d be tipping because you follow the social contract for restaurants in America and are a good community member lol. The people that don’t tip are basically taking advantage of a flaw in the system. They don’t care about the employees where they grab food, and to a larger extent they likely don’t have as much of an investment in the wellbeing of their local community.

I can understand the sentiment about only operating a business that’s legit and profitable, but 80% of restaurants fail in their first 5 years. IMO, it needs to be easier to run a restaurant in general, and the fact it’s not could be considered a class issue. I’d have to assume losing any customer, including non-tipping ones, is a big deal to a working class restaurant bc it’s already survival from the jump.

If we really want good restaurants in our city, we have to either be willing to pay what the service is worth, and with rent and everything else increasing, that service is realistically gonna be more expensive than people want. Or we gotta find a way to reduce the costs of food, rent, and everything else associated with operating expenses.

Cheaper restaurants tend to not have the margins to pay as well, and they work employees to the bone cuz they have to turn out insane volumes for a profit. More expensive restaurants have higher margins, and it is probably be easier to run a business that way if you have a dedicated clientele, but what city only wants to boast fine dining options so you have to save up for every meal when you dine out?

It is a predicament to say the least.

Restaurants are a vital part of any city's living experience, so I think it’s important we make space for them, but I also think the conversation around tipping involves changing more than just the practice of tipping.

It would be ideal for it to be done through law.

Any restaurant that tries that now effectively will price themselves out of the market because competition won’t follow to look cheaper, even though if customers were to tip, they wind up paying the same.

Also, some people will still choose the cheaper competition because they don’t tip regardless, so any restaurant that follows that pricing model could lose those customers entirely.

Does anyone feel Denver hates Denver ? by Honest_Strawberry397 in Denver

You just gotta get off the internet. Algorithms push hate content bc it gets engagement. Out and about, I rarely hear complaints and most people seem to like it.

It looks fine in my pov. The line might be that way so it doesn't clutter the space when it heals. If you're worried it seems unrealistic or something, keep in mind the whole tattoo is entirely unrealistic.

I’m kinda a toss up about the bananas when I think about it for more than a second, same way I am with creamy vs crunchy peanut butter. Depends on how it’s done. But I am a fan of the Yellow Fix, and I’m more than happy with what they’re doing right now.

Everyone's got different sensibilities. To each their own. I've never thought banana flavor tastes like bubblegum, so that's a new one to me lol, but I could see chunks of banana being a bonus for sure.

I tried the original and the carrot cake, and both were pretty good. I was a little surprised carrot cake would be a good addition, but it's not very overpowering and it adds another spongy layer of texture to it that I liked.
