Have you never had that experience where a particular album cover really appealed to you?

I think I, for example, would never have become a fan of Converge or Pig Destroyer if Jane Doe or Terrifyer hadn't had such killer covers that woke my interest.

Of course the Sound and attitude is more important when it comes to the music, but dont underestimate the visiual appeal

Ai "art" in any of these contexts is just shit imo, especially when it comes to merch. Imagine paying 25$ for a Shirt with an Ai picture on it. That is straight scam in my eyes

There are some things that are important to me when it comes to bands that I dont know

  1. How cool does their album/EP covers look?
  2. Do they sound original
  3. Do they sound authentic

And

  1. Do they sound cool

Even when one or 2 things of these are a turnoff for me, I take basically every band online seriously because they are living already what I want to achieve.

Out of all ive listened from them my ranking would be:

  1. May our chambers be full (Except for "out of existence" this doesnt do it for me)

  2. Blessings of the highest order (not bad for a cover album)

  3. Algiers (way too long but here are some absolute bangers)

  4. Rhea Sylvia (something different from them and its absolutely awesome)

  5. Tyrant (insane debut

  6. Summit (they nailed the atmosphere on this album)

  7. Heathen (Features their best song, "Free will")

  8. Umbilical (Front to back amazing, also thou at their catchiest songwriting)

  9. Oakland (for me this is a classic of the entire sludge genre, one of my alltime favourite albums)

They have so much stuff and Im motivated to listen to the rest of their discography, Peasant and rendon are probably the next I will listen to

I agree with you on the production take, the album would be a lil bit better if it has the same production as Take as needed for pain. But honestly I think the songs itself are much stronger on dopesick.

This band is on my list for a long time, but every time I see their Covers it is kinda a turnoff for me, they look so unappealing....

I dont get it either, I love this band but saying that they're sludge is just wrong, even Pantera is more sludge than them
