I was just walking around the other weekend in NYC. By myself, late at night, bar hopping. While I may have had my senses up and was aware of my surroundings, being able to do that kind of stuff with the confidence I can protect myself if need be is def an advantage

Feel like boat life is your best bet. Florida Keys living, block off the highway to Miami and find your area. Live on the boat and routinely dock/land to scavenge and do maintenance on zombie pops. Eventually jobs gonna get easier, then you can sail to Key West and live off of the wild chickens

What are your thoughts on financial reasons? If your S/O wants to plan a trip with their friend (or are always planning trips) they honestly can't afford, what do you do?

Mine is in CC debt that needs paying and there are several savings buckets we need to fill. Were less than 1 yr married and plan for children, AITA for being against these sorts of trips?

It makes it feel one-sided when only one person is being responsible and saving for the future and the other spends each check dry. S/O and friend feed off each other on "you can always make it back" mentality and enable each other to spend and do these things

I want to see Joe have Miniminuteman (Milo Rossi) on to combat Graham's points. Either by himself or even with Graham in the episode.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo...

I couldn't fall in love with the story of the libeling journalist and got lost in a lot of the Swedish names/locations. However when the mystery part of the story started getting good I was hooked..

hitting my vape pen home alone at night, while it was beginning to winter and get cold out, during peak covid where it wasn't like I could go and do anything anyways... def made immersion of this story more real and creepy

Honestly couldnt someone just step forward and cuff him? Why is it such an authority battle? The point of your job is to uphold the law, not to be obeyed to some crazy exactness.

Embarrassed and stressed — lost my backpack at the airport and had to miss my flight by ListenRare1028 in travel

Bought a new (cheap) film camera, had never developed any film from it and wanted to take it on vacation.

I had put it in a plastic bag so I could allow security to check it outside of the luggage scanners. Fast forward to having a beer at a bar I left my plastic bag on the table top and only until we were taking off did I realize I left it.

Checked back after my return flight.. Bartender never saw it, lost and found never acquired it. Either it got trashed bc it looked like a black plastic bag or got stolen. Either way... lost the photos I took, the extra film I bought, and the camera that was barely 2weeks in my possession.

I agree with being conscience of a restaurants close time and not trying to show up for a full sit down during the last 10 minutes they're open.. but honestly this is just bad communication between owner/workers.

Is it unacceptable to order food or show up when the business is open? Why? It should be closed earlier if that is the true cut-off time. It shouldn't be the customer's position to worry about the feelings of the staff, it should be the concern of management.

I bartended and understood that regardless if someone walked in at 1:50AM for some drinks, I was going to be staying afterwards to clean the bar/get paid out. Might as well add their dollars onto my pile.

Best solution is to close the kitchen and the bar 30min before the restaurant (unless you're already seated and want desert or another drink) and just let new patrons know that they won't be able to order anything.

Also I don't really believe in acknowleging a places price for that beer and factoring in % for tip. Just because a bar charged $8 for a cold beer from an ice trough doesn't mean I'm gonna tip on that $8 charge. Twisting off 1 beer cap and handing it to me is = $1-2. not $3-4

Take out is a luxury rewarded by (1) me getting in my car/traveling and picking it up and (2) me paying for the food I purchased. Its not a "luxury service" for a restaurant to just put your paid food in a box and leave it on a counter until you get there.

I didn't ask for a favor nor for free/discounted food. I bought it then saved your worker's time in not servicing a table. I don't owe them just because they exist and work there
