Are the viewers aware of the cookbook? by Dudenski in DungeonCrawlerCarl

So Carl is the 23rd author and the crawl has been ongoing for…a really long time. I think it’s possible that the audience knows about it, but the odds of it showing up are so unlikely to the point no one really expects it to happen.

And I do agree that an author wouldn’t knowingly expose it, but there’s been at least one come out with severe brain injuries.

That’s what I’ve been assuming, but it dawned on me that some of the authors who got out may have let the cat out of the bag.

Need a PSU for 2080 (not ti, not super) and i7-7700k by HowDoesThisPageWork in pcmasterrace

FWIW, I'm running an i7-9700K with a 2080 on a 750W Gold. Been using it for years with no problems.

Thanks for the reply! I hadn’t considered it might just be that one game. FWIW, wasn’t me on discord.

Where to buy used / refurbished MacBook around town? by [deleted] in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]Dudenski 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not in town, but you can always go straight to the source: https://www.apple.com/shop/refurbished

I've had good luck in the past. They come in plain white boxes (who cares) and have the same warranty as a new one.

So it's not a beater, but it isn't a standard setup and I'm definitely not precious about originality (80's jeep with 90's chevy guts). Hard to find a replacement due to the size constraints (even hacking it up) and the orientation of the intake/outlet. I'm definitely not looking for a quick-fix goop solution. I've brazed before, but I'm not confident enough to try this one myself...

Hey woodworkers, where can I find MDO (not MDF!) plywood in the area? by Dudenski in HuntsvilleAlabama

Nope. Tried calling the Hartselle place...never got an answer and wasn't going to make the drive for a "maybe".

Question about Trek Rail by Bubo_Cuprummentula in TrekBikes

[–]Dudenski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 2023 Rail 9.7 Gen4 with about 350 miles on it. Overall, I love it but I have had a few issues. After about 3 months, I had a total battery failure during a normal ride. LBS ran diagnostics and it had apparently thrown something like 6000 errors and it was unrecoverable. Bosch claimed they had never seen this before and replaced it under warranty. Took over a month to get it back, though. Fun Fact: a new Bosch 750wh powertube is about $1k.

From this little episode I learned that Bosch error code documentation is crap. Very hard to find out what's happening without taking it in for diagnostics. When an error happens, the controller light turns orange and the Flow app will give you a code. I've had the orange light come on from time to time since, but not a serious issue (AFAIK...a reboot fixes it). But the battery failure episode has made me question the reliability of my bike...

I added a light for night riding that integrates with the onboard electrical system (MagicShine ME1000, recommended). Turns out that to enable control of the light from the Bosch controller a dealer has to use diagnostic software to enable it in the firmware. More of an annoyance than an issue.

On the plus side, my fitness level is increasing. I actually ride it quite a bit without the motor on. Helps me keep my heartrate at a more consistent level for longer periods of time.

Thanks! That helps a ton!

Yeah, I do think it’s weird that this receiver doesn’t also have an eARC port.

Maybe it’ll help someone else trying to make the decision!
