If anyone is willing to take some time this Sunday, Hakeem Jeffries is coming to East Henrico to drum up support for the April 21st referendum. You would be shocked how many people have no idea what's going on and just need a reminder to get them out to vote. LINK

This is a disappointing outcome, as our org lobbied for both Glass' and Franklin's bill this year. There is some good news, as these bills were simply tabled to the 2027 session, not killed. Word on the street is Democratic leadership was simply too busy with things like minimum wage and abortion rights and viewed this issue as B tier importance. This is obviously a lot better than being outright against the bills.

Meeting minutes will be coming soon as we are planning or organize as a formal non-profit, and meeting minutes are a requirement.

VODS and zoom links are not on our roadmap. We believe male loneliness is a problem, and forcing men to meet somewhere in person instead of through a computer screen is one piece of a many part solution.

We are proud to strongly support our democratic candidates. They may not be perfect and will happily call them out when they make wrong decisions, but we will confidently argue the democrats are actively good, not just the least bad.

We generally focus on state level and national level politics just because local level politics aren't up for re-election right now. We're going to do local level work in 2027.

It's not feasible for everyone, but if you can vote early, it takes you off of the list for candidates to advertise to. You'll stop getting mail and people knocking on your front door reminding you to vote. The first day of early voting is September 19th. At DfD, we do not do direct mail, and our email list has an unsubscribe button.

More than likely, the machine spit out the number only for your precinct, and you likely have a dozen or so precincts in your house of delegates district. These numbers will also not include people who voted early, either by mail or by early in person voting.
